Not really clear enough, you can see the central region is final fracture, outer may be fatigue but the shaft is probably case carburised so it may just show those features due to the hardened region. Do you have a camera with macro. If not take the pics from further back

I believe the FG shafts may have been case hardened, never seen one in the flesh but was told they went this way after the BF's
