Nakamichi Car Speakers

Hey everyone,

Anybody got any feedback on Nakamichi car speakers. They make some nice home theatre amps, interested if anyone has played with their car gear

They make very high end head units, that look very OEM.

Their headunits are 'the sh*t'...they have always been used when needing ultimate sound quality in SQ competitions. Cant comment for the speakers but if the headunits are anything to go by I would rate them with Focal

Use to be known for their recording devices. Mixing desks so forth.

They have always been top shelf stuff and not too hard on the wallet.

Why doesn't Bose sell car audio stuff in this country ????

Ive used their gear lots, many years ago and it was always the best when it came to sound quality and fidelity, but the best never came cheap. Back when a good Kenwood deck cost $400, their stuff was $1200! Amps never the most powerful, but beautiful musically and really really smooth. Their speakers always sounded a little 'Japanesey", if that's a word, but the rest of their electronics was simply mint.. Still have a home stereo cassette deck of theirs, Nakamichi Dragon, best deck Ive used, bar none.

They always had class tapes decks. Amp were OK. When I used them they didn't really promote speakers, but that was a long while ago. You don't see much of them around these days but they were always a hi-qual brand.

Nakamichi were at their zenith in the days before Compact Disc,and seem to have kind of faded out of view. I haven't followed their products much lately, but would hope that they still remain the very high quality standard I remember them for.

I have installed the nakamichi 6.5 splits in the front, really happy with them.

I also put a set of 6x9's in the rear and hooked them up to my amp. Much better than standard.

So for $510 I have done 12" kicker sub and amp, front splits and 6x9s.
