Hey guys. Just wondering anyone here installed a v3 rapids intercooler on ba/bf. Wondering whether cutting in bumper support needs to be made and does the air conditioner piping come in way of piping at all? Thanks

Yes the bar requires cutting and the aircon lines need bending a fair bit.

If you want to do it right then alot of cutting is required so that no piping or the intercooler rubs on anything otherwise if you want to be dodgy then just make some small cuts in the front bar and let the rest rub on the chassis!

My experience anyway.

that's fair enough. So no Ac pipes needed removing though is that correct? Where is your piping connected too? Plenum? Back to crossover. Thanks

It is possible, I just fitted my 1000hp plazmaman with no cutting. We moved the power steering lines upto behind the top grill.

Was it a big job to move steering lines henz?

With the power steering line/cooler I moved mine closer to the radiator by bending and extending the brackets.

As I said, you can fit it by not cutting but it will rub on just about every part.

Steel beats alluminium and rubber for wear factor so give it 6-12months and I know what will win!

As I said this is my experience as far as fitting the V3.5 kit.

When I installed my hdi intercooler on my old bf, I also cut a fair bit of the bumper support and bent back the air con pipe, I suggest if you can do more cutting and less bending so everything has more room to move and bounce around I'd go with that option :)

Yer I figured. Just don't feel good about doing the cutting. Thanks for the replies..

Exactly what I found with my install.
