Uneven Rear Brake Pad Wear

Featured Replies

#1

I have a Fg xr6 turbo ute with 55000 klm

I had to replace the rear brake pads today. They have worn unevenly.

The inner pads were both nearly metal on metal. The outside pads were barely worn.

Any ideas why this occurred? I have never seen this before.

The front brakes were ok.

check the sliders on the calipers they might be jammed if they both move freely then just see how the next set of pads go if there jammed u will need to unjam them so they move freely

Done, I'll see how they go.

One of the pistons (not sure if 'sliders' are the same thing) might have become stuck, pretty rare IMO but possible.. Also maybe get someone to check all the bolts etc are right..

My mates FG xr6t ute had the same issue.. sliders were not stuck either!
