They put bigger injectors can't remember what ones, also they ported the wastegate and a bigger flapper and a actuator, getting a HID intercooler, only chasing 320rwkw or 340rwkw. Not sure what to do next.

Nice! I just picked up my first ever T today & absolutely love it! Even if it is stock! :D

Bought an 08 fg xr6 turbo a month ago. Just picked it up from a couple of cheap upgrades, venom cat autotecknica cooler id 550 injectors and tune made 280 rwkw on mainline dyno. Goes heaps better. Tuner said the cooler was fine very little power drop between runs. Tuned using vcm suite.

newbie question.

09 xr6t manual.

interested in a growler, big mouth, and (after reading this thread) a high-flo cat. obviously, an x3 tuner as well. would like a little extra oomph, an more interested in intake noise, not exhaust noise, hence the intake mods and only getting a cat.

the question is, can these parts be added on at a time, and then get the tuner on it later to realy make the most of it all? read in here the ecu will self adjust after 500kms to suit the improved induction/exhaust. yay/nay?

also, standard BOV is a plumback. have removed the pipe that joins the BOV to the intake, and blocked the hole left in the intake (as it was post filter) with a large heater hose block off, and the OEM clamp. the BOV now exhausts straight out into nothing. gets a nice nittle pssstchhh noise. regular thing to do?

You cant run the cat without a tune.

You also need to think about injectors before you bother fitting up the rest. And you really should look at a bigger intercooler and piping to match,

whoops, yeah, injectors to go in with the tune. certainly dont want it to lean out.

serious question, why can you not change the cat without a tune? the turbo shouldnt really go up in boost (that's the idea of the wastegate, yes?) so no extra fueling required at this stage?

got a reasonable mech background, but its mostly in bikes, so turbo's are failry foriegn.

Finally got my XR6T FG2 ute. Loving every minute of it. By the looks of things, if Im chasing at least 300kw, I should get injectors, high flow cat PWR intercooler upgrade.

question though, what piping kit to put on to replace the stock plastic ones? Anyone had any experience with HDI intercoolers?

who is recommended for a tune here in Canberra?

is it ok to run a 3.5 cat back exhaust + a turbo side cai on a stock tune fg xr6t ? as I dont want to tune the car for a while but would like to upgrade the cai to get more sound from the car .

Yes, as long as you don't drive the car once its all fitted!

Seriously though, don't drive the car with the 3.5" exhaust fitted unless you want to be limping around everywhere...
