June 21, 201115 yr #1 Has anybody got a 52mm gauge in their tissue tray? Im looking at the tripod with gauges and one down opposite the cig lighter. Info and pictures would be good :D
June 21, 201115 yr #2 I used to have my eboost mounted down there. found it very distracting and the time it took to glance down and back up at the road was long enough to be a concern. I've not seen any ready made gauge holders that would fit there either.Have you thought about 2 gauge cup on top of the steering column? Very easy too see and very easy to install. I currently have my boost and Wideband gauges mounted there
June 21, 201115 yr #3 Guages in the tissue tray? Looks good in photos. Good use of available space. Doesn't look in your traffic accident report when you admit to looking down at the guages (which you will!) before you ran up the rear-end of a 1982 Datsun...Get a tripod guage holder.
June 21, 201115 yr #4 I had I tripod, but don't want 3 gauges at the moment so I've mounted mine there. I rarely look at it though, it's only for on the line. Kicks it down there with my stubby holder for 40 degree days when you can't touch the gear stick.
June 21, 201115 yr #5 henz did you get a gauge with vac on it so when you hit boost it looks like the needle goes further round?
June 22, 201115 yr #7 Author Ive got a tripod already with boost, oil pres and oil temp however want to get a Aeroforce gauge (52mm) which isnt too distracting while driving as it only shows digits nothing like a boost gauge which Id wanna look at while driving. Where did you did the steering column gauge holder from????? There must be a good place that is viewable and easy to install. I thought about laser cutting a plate to hold the gauge in but the plastic tray would need to be cut into.
June 22, 201115 yr #8 henz did you get a gauge with vac on it so when you hit boost it looks like the needle goes further round? Mine hits boost harder than I hit my Mrs, needed the extra swing. It's not as bad as the one I saw with a 5" boost gauge!
June 22, 201115 yr #9 Where did you did the steering column gauge holder from?????They are just regular Autometer Rollcage mounting Cups. Two screws and a bit of foam to stop any squeaks. The roll cage mounts have a small groove pressed into them to help align them with the tube, this sits very nicely on the corner radius of the top steering column shroud
June 22, 201115 yr #10 Any where you can get them online? I wanted mine there but was ify about screwing in. So there's nothing there?
