okay so I got my 2005 ba mk2 turbo about 2 weeks ago from the dealer it has 77,000 on the clock and the turbo is rooted already

I haave really only gave it one good boot since having it racing a mate and since that it will now and the make a grinding noise after around 2500 revs,

when shuting down the car you can hear it grinding and I have also took the inlet pipe off to find it has alot of play fowards and back wards and side to side,

it goes in to the shop in aa few day to get looked at and then most probably fixed , by warrenty thank god.

so iv been reading everything so far and all I can think it would be is the car yard has not changed or checked the oil lines and filter or they have used the wrong oil.

so I was just wondering if anyone has had a problem with the oil lines once they have replaced them with the stainless steel braided lines at all? or did this seem to solve the blockage? of course with regular services on the filter .

and is there anything else I should be changing or checking once I get it back after warrenty .

thanks .

Warranty? Have you got extended warranty or something. 5 year old car aren't usually covered.

As for the oil lines, its the little oil filter which causes the problems, people either get it replaced with a braided aftermarket piece or you can have the filter removed, I had mine removed and as long as you change oil every 5000-7000ks with quality 100 percent synthetic you should not have a problem.

Stat warranty.. spit.gif LMAO!

Be prepared for a 2k bill of which the "warranty" will cover 500 bucks..

There is nothing the car yard could have done, its not like they are going to go pulling the turbo feed line off every T that comes in, that's just the luck of the draw. I would make 100% sure they will cover all of the cost of the repairs, because generally speaking insurance jobs get charged thru the nose and you could probnably arrange it cheaper yourself if they are only gonna cover $500. Make sure you put a braided oil feed line and external filter on the new one, as the factory one will be blocked having caused the problem. Many a people have come unstuck replacing the turbo only to have it fail within 2000 k's again because of the blocked factory filter.

Don't all car yards give 3month warranties on second hand cars?

Yep, it's called statutory warranty. They have to by law.

my understanding is a stat warranty for the first 3 month it's 100% covered. then after the sat warranty runs out then the dealer warranty kicks in. what ever they give you. so dealer has to cover all cost's for the first 3 months. no if's or but's. when I bought mine , my diff bush went, they tryed to get out of it and make me pay. went to vacc here in vic dealer end up paying full cost.

Stat warranty only covers roadworthy items? Noisy turbo wouldnt be a road worthiness item if the dealer has too pay
