Fg Custom Tray Build

Recommended Posts

Hi all..

Im going to build a tray for my new fg XR6T and am wondering if the mounting

points are the same for an fg as they are for a ba/bf.

I ask because a friend has an alloy tray in his garage off a ba and I want to

build mine and just take the mounting positions from it.

Does anyone know if I will run into any problems doing this?

Cheers...

-Ben

Designing my tray build...

These ones I have borrowed heavily from smacxr8(pictured) from AFF cause it looks shuuweet...

There are subtle changes...

It's nice, just don't like where the exhaust is.

In thinking about doing a tray back, got a mate selling a cut down one cheap as I might try out.

Twin Stacks.. I actually saw a BF one Tonner with this feature recently.

All jokes aside, that's a nice tray. The one on my BF one tonner is looooong. I have a huge Diamond T box attached at the head board and I can still lay full length on my tray.

I could maybe box in the entire rear chassis and leafs and all hiding all the uglies like spare tire nd sh*t... maybe somehow run some mirror polished pipes and mufflers up the side of that.

You guys all might call me gay for saying this, but I really like the old school looking trays, I've seen some great custom ones with wooden floors (like polished boards) I rekon they look the best, always have.

I rekon the tough FG front would be able to pull that off.

commence *beep* bashing! :)

The wood trays look good, till it warps etc

Wormy doesn't care if your gay or not, he likes all sorts in his dungeon.

ordering led taillight atm...

opinions please...

The one under the numberplate is a white reverse light. There is a numberplate light tucked in above the numberplate.

The whole bottom section is mirror polished stainless steel... it folds back and continues down to the chassis. two 3.5" tips poking through...

what yez thinks???

Im going with colour coded 100x50 steel RHS around the outside. 5mm polished aluminium checkerplate floor sitting flush with top of RHS.

Checkerplate mud guards... Not curved like the picks and it wont be cut into the RHS like smacxr8's. will just have a straight piece coming down the back and a shorter piece at the front.

the rubber will sit inside the RHS
