DUS12 Member 471 Member For: 19y 2m 22d Posted 08/12/10 05:16 AM Posted 08/12/10 05:16 AM my point of bringing up his motor was to say its the first really serious one I know of, and in terms of power is going to give these 2j and rb guys a run.spiros new motor is going to run solids yes. but the limit of the atomic performance lifter has not been reached yet.the way atomic sets their lifters up they are already pumped up to full travel and liquid doesnt compress so basicly act the same as a solid, im sure brad will explain this to anyone who buys one of his heads, just one more reason why atomic are miles ahead of everyone else I have the biggest cams and valve springs and dont have a drama.will try get a video of my tacho on the dyno this week some time

I know c & v very well ... and most of the big tuners and engine builders and have put many combos together myself ... Even Gas motorsports ditched there 2000hp power program for the ford because there was no way at least to solve these issues ... and I dont know where your car was dynoed at but if your is making 1044 hp atw dude your ute should be running 150mph plus and it should be in the low 9s high 8s and that's being conservative so let me tell u someting dude the dyno u put the car on is either on steroids or you cant drive it because it aint showing the numbers my friend.... The only real dyno is the track and dont you forget it. Mate I know the shop that does the heads for brad and they use a five axis cnc they just bought but a stock head will make 1000hp without doing any bowl work or short turns and I know the owner of the machining shop personally and brad aswell have known him for 20 odd years and u can ask brad himself because he knows the issues of the head . so I dont know what u are on about... and I know the guy himself who puts the motors together for brad so ill be question which tree are you barking up ? turbotrana Member 2,586 Member For: 23y 5m 28d Gender: Male Posted 08/12/10 12:05 PM Posted 08/12/10 12:05 PM I have had a bit of experience with hydraulic and solid lifters in Expensive Daewoo 202s. Solids always reved heaps more, 7500rpm was no problem with a 36/78 cam whereas with standard lifters 6000 and rhoads antipump ups would go 6500rpm. The only issue is more valvetrain noise using solids. Even if you get another 1000 usable rpm on a hot motor its worth it..Re: harmonics, Expensive Daewoo 202s had them bad around 5700rpm. The fix was a fully counterweighted crank, heavy steel harmonic balancer and alluminium flywheel all balanced on a good machine took 90% of it away.

Does anyone remember the size of the harmonic balancer on a 265 hemi 6 pack charger.
PSI40L Member 175 Member For: 23y 9m 10d Posted 08/12/10 03:06 PM Author Posted 08/12/10 03:06 PM good on you arron I have put many 265 together the r/t balancer and romac copy of it are 2.5 inches wide to stop harmonics and are all steel and a stout 265 with head work could be spun to 8000 rpm no worries and how do I know cause I have one 430hp from a single carby in a centura hehehe ... Bcl is very right with his comment the only other way is to destroke the ford motor to maybe 200 cubes and this will work to reduce harmonics.

Round of applause for you.Pull your head in please...You know C&V, Brad, Brad's engine builder, the guy who does the heads for Brad... the Milkman, the guy who sells newspapers and whoever else! I once watched Wayne Rooney play football when I was 16, but that doesnt mean I can play for Man Utd!I was within a couple of feet of Daniel Ricciardo a week or 2 ago, but that doesnt make me a F1 driver.Anyone can come in and drop a few names buddy.....................How about, instead of telling people who have been involved in some substantial engine development (with the assistance of people like Brad etc.) and have spent some serious money on engine combo's - you pony up some dough to build and engine that will produce over 4 times more power than stock configuration! You opened a thread to give a statement and some people have come in and debated or have provided information based on that statement and your telling people that they cant drive their vehicle based on the information they have given...?Come on dude, your better than that!
