October 20, 201016 yr #1 Hey all,My car horn just started going off in the middle of the night all by itself and woke everyone up within a couple of hundred metres (luckily it was a satdy night). I didn't know what was going on so I just unplugged the battery to shut it up. Fortunately for me, it when I reconnected the horn was fine. However, I've been meaning to take it to ford to get it check out but haven't had time to so every night since then I've had to disconnect the battery and reconnect in the morning. Instead of doing this, can't I just take out the fuse instead? How do I take the lid off the fuse box in the engine without dismantling evreything around it and does anybody know whats going on with my horn and know what the fix is?It's a bf mkII and it only happened once on a very cold night. Thanks guys!
October 20, 201016 yr #2 That's a little bit funny. There might be a horn fuse check your owners manual, fuses diagram is near the back
October 20, 201016 yr #3 My ex's dad's BF F6 had this issue. The horn would get stuck on. Happened when they were driving through a cemetery to a funeral too...I don't know the outcome, but I think he took it to Ford. Just letting you know that I've heard of this happening before.
October 20, 201016 yr #4 Is it stuck on permanently or 'beeping', if the later it could be a dodgy remote with the panic alarm activating. There has been reports of that before...think it was the battery in the remote failing or something?

October 20, 201016 yr #7 I had the same problem and it was cause I was getting a flat car battery and the relay would close itself.2am with airhorns got me out of bed quick smart. Also the other problem I have head is moisture in the key fob remote after the guy had his keys in the bathroom and the steam must have got in and got the connection wet.Just 2 ideas to look at.
October 20, 201016 yr #8 I had the same prob, but in my ford...laser.hahha. I live next to 6 other units, and gee they wernt happy with me after it went off at 2 am on a thursday night. I never worked out what the prob was, im thinking the relay.

October 20, 201016 yr #10 It's probably the remote needing a new battery. Same thing happened to me a few months ago. Took the horn fuse out to give myself some thinking and research time...replaced battery in the remote and all fixed.
