Probably only good for a 12.00 now with the added weight of the paint.

I wanna head down to the 1/4 again and see how it goes with the valve spring retune and built box...might end up with a ZF tune by the time the track reopens!

New shoes for her, finally rid of those god awful Tri-Ace Carrera tyres. I can accelerate and stop on wet roads again!

Achilles ATR Sport 2 in 245/40/18 for $179 a corner drive away at Midland Tyre Power, notes so far:

TC off and a 95% dry road they only lose traction at top of first, second has stuck well so far. Car now feels less powerful :/

TC off on a damp road 20 seconds after the previous test, they spun in second but again only right up in the revs, probably 4500RPM to 5000. Incredible bang for buck so far!

Also fairly quiet it seems, but I might have been used to the roar of the previous monstrosities.

Fingers crossed they continue to perform well for a fair while, that's the real test. Many here have praised them and a couple have said they suck so I like my odds!

Also clocked up 234,000 which will be a good marker for tyre life.

Do need to get an alignment done though, I'm overdue 6 months at least.

Steve can you take a side shot of the tyre so I can see how the sidewall looks. The ATR2 I have seen look stretched.

Yeah I know, it was on the way to work so time is money...I'll see if I can get one done today. Have only driven about 120km on them so far :)

Got a week off from work so I fitted up the rear sway bar link pins I bought like 6 months ago from Pat :)

Size guide - possibly a 16mm on the top nut but I don't have a 16mm spanner so...

Preparing and fitting the new ones. Something others had written about in the thread where Pat advertised these was the top nut and joint just spinning as there is no room in the underside to get a spanner in to hold it in place. I have done my best to get around this by using a jack to push up on the new link pins, not enough to lift the tyre but almost. Hopefully this doesn't affect longevity! Was feeling brave today. This gave enough friction to allow a fair tightening up of the top nut. I added some mid strength loctite to it to make sure though. Will be a royal PITA to remove I suspect.

Also a note on the second and third images here, showing the order of the washers. Stepped washer fits into the arm as seen.

A quick test drive and I think it's solved a loose knocking sound I have had in the rear for quite some time. Sounded like the arse was going to fall out of the car when going over really bumpy terrain. Fingers crossed a proper drive gives me certainty that it's gone.
