Lowering My T

Well, Ive made a decision to keep my T for at least the whole lease period, so that means mods mods mods!! I have already got the front brakes and the APS phase II on order but I want my car to have a slight difference in appearance. Maybe a little lower not much may 1/2 inch to a inch max and most importantly I dont want the ride to be harder than it is seeing that I wont be doing this to improve my cars handling. I am doing this purely for the look of my car.

So anyone got any suggestions for

1. Parts required for this?

2. Is it possible to lower without making ride quality drop?

3.if so how and where?

All suggestions would be greatly appreaciated. :idea:

as far as I know lower means harder ride. You may be able to get away with just replacing your springs, shocks should be ok as I think there gas. King springs seem to have a nicely finished product compared to other local suppliers.[ I think anyway] White line suspension are working on a kit, apart from that find out if you need other suspension bits to give the proper camber adjustments ie top of tyres leaning in to the wheel arch. Turbo4lt has his car lowered try send a post to him.

We used king springs to lower our car using standard shocks and it has not affected ride quality at all and looks great.

Herrod's lowered spring's and camber kit, sit's em on there bum nice and flat the rides a little harder but not noticable, improves the handling greatly as well.

Havent scraped a gutter yet, strangely enough I did a lot more scraping pryor to lowering it.

Have only scraped on one speed hump that would have taken a Hilux to get across without scraping. :lol:

I used king springs on mine and the ride seems the same ....looks good to and the car seems to hanlde better. I didnt fit a camber kit as it was still within specs.

I've got the Herrod suspension in my car, ride quality is a smidgin harder but not uncomfortable. I was concerned about ride quality too before I got it done but was lucky enough to meet up and drive another forum members BA with the Herrod suspension. You get 4 springs and a camber kit, can't remember how much it cost though!

As for gutters and speed humps, you can't nose up to the kerb otherwise you'll wreck your front spoiler (scraped mine before I lowered it!) but speed humps will be OK if you drive slowly. Steep driveways may need to be taken slowly at an angle.

I had my lowered by 1 inch which included new belstein shocks, springs and a camber kit, the ride now is very similar to standard apart from the why it handles.

If your in Sydney give Heasmans a call, your car will handle like it's on rails especially high speed track work.
