Xr6 Turbo Cutting Out Under Load

hi guys, I have a 2003 manual xr6 turbo, standard no mods , last night I noticed as I went to overtake a car , I put it back into 3rd and put the foot down, and it took off but as soon as it hit 3500 4000 ish it just cut out like it was breaking down under load?

its drives fine and still boosts but under load its like traction ctrl but the light doesnt flash ,

I tried some differnt coil packs, new plugs

any ideas would be great

fuel pump may be on the way out. Or clogged fuel filter.

maybe a loose intercooler pipe.. Also fuel surge, Put a full tank in and see if it make's a difference

It sounds like exactly what my car used to do. I took it to C&V Performance and they said the coils were stuffed so they went out and got me new ones (stock from ford I think). They also replaced my spark plugs. This was at least 6 months ago. Havn't had the problem since.

Check the hoses to your boost solenoid are both connected & tight (clean out the boost solenoid & hoses while you're there with WD40).

Replace your fuel filter & ensure your new coils are firmly pushed on.

Let us know how you go.

do a basic service of fuel system first..then coils and plugs..

Had the same problem on My car and it is also a 2003 BA Just changed the Fuel filter and bought standard plugs and gapped them to 0.7mm Plugs were like $4.80ea and problem solved, I just get Valve bounce over 5000 RPM now on boost, Guess my Valve springs are farked haha :-)
