farkkkk! no good mate!

I was out in the back yard with my car sitting in the front yard, the wind started getting intence so I made a dash to get me car in the garage and JUST got it in before golf and cricket ball sized hail stones came bucketing down! I left the parental's cars out front so that mine could get the only free garage spot lol

Man I got caught in it just near Punt Road Bridge and farrrrk thought I would drive out of it but the farrker was following me out towards the SE suburbs. Ended up waiting it out under the shelter of some trees in leafy (well very leafy on the ground now) Toorak. Was in 2 minds about doing that though - worried about a tree branch landing on the roof but also conscious about trying to protect the body panels of the car.

Here's one of the reports in the local papers

Giant hailstorm strikes Melbourne, causing flooding and chaos | Herald Sun

Can't wait to inspect my roof when its drier and daylight tomorrow.

Rowville got slammed pretty hard. My mate is checking out his XY in the morning. Car was in carport hail coming in sideways.

Headsex's cars have been hit. Company car may have a couple of small dents. I hate hail. Worst in QLD. When they get hit with hail it is bigger than golf balls.

Very nasty day. I looked at weather report this morning. Said thunderstorm. Said nothing about beeeping hail!

To all those that get damaged I hope you can get repaired and get a nice new spray job. Pain in the arse being without your car though!

Saw the racecourse (flemington??) on the news tonight and it looked like chaos.

Apparently took the race stewards 30 minutes to decide it was not fit for racing..

Perth never gets interesting weather like this!
