Qld Smartcard Drivers License

In 2010, the following smartcards will begin to be geographically rolled out across Queensland replacing the laminated cards:

. Drivers license

. Heavey vehicle drivers license

. Adult proof of age card

. Marine licence indicator

. Industry Authority

The move to credit card-sized plastic smartcard, embedded with a smartchip, means the driver licence wil be more reliable, more credible and more durable. The new smartcard will also offer greater security, because unlike the currant laminated cards the new Queensland smartcards will be virtually impossible to duplicate.

Sorry I had to put up with this sh*t all day so I thought I would dump it on you. lol

But I thought all Queenslanders should know.

What they are not saying is just how smart this chip is !!!!!!!!!!

I'd just rather see the millions they are going to put into this used in a better way. Like good roads. Cant say a new fandangled licence is going to save any lives.

very much so, as QLD drivers licences are currently the equivelant to those issued in remote provinces on India.
