Posted 25/09/03 03:03 AM Posted 25/09/03 03:03 AM Warning; possibly unjustified rant ahead:OK:I've been buying ZOOM way back from when they were associated with silicon chip mag, I've watched it evolve from an excellent magazine with heaps of usefull tips to another glossy. I really hate "Then Gino dun this and the dun that, Geno recons its good for six million kilowats at the flywheel, AKA streetmachine" I still buy ZOOM, because, well, what else is there? But gee, six parts to the XR6T story? what was the last one, two pages of text? How many episodes are there to go? I still like the tech articles, they're well written and tell you not only what works, but what not works (AND what's legal) which is invaluable information to anyone who's trying to develop a car at home. However....... I now buy the mag with some trepidation will I get some hard info this edition?....How many more episodes is this going to go on??I suppose it is a buisness and they deserve to be rewarded for the knowledge and development that has gone into the T, but how many more mags do I need to buy?

I suppose You should try one before you come out with that. I did, measured the results, and quantified the difference. To make the sort of power we did on the stock cooler requires it to have additional help. Same goes for the oil cooler. If you saw the temperatures we did, then you might have a better understanding.....As a rule though, I am no great fan of spraying water everywhere, which is why we did this - (Dont click for the dyno graph though as it doesnt exist here!)BTW I do know that shiny headed Herrod quite well...and as he would say "Noice One"

The order of your 'problems', where you place an oil cooler near last, shows that you either want to leave the engine totally stock, dont want it to live (modified) past a few months, or, have no idea what you are talking about.
