Altering a cars tune can affect the emission levels the car will produce, so it is deemed illegal unless you pay to have your tune tested at the EPA emmission labs.

Just out of curiousity what are the costs to have an EPA test done on your vehicle at the lab to make sure it is compliant?

Never had one done but think it is something like $8000 a time for a lab bag test (not im240) and if you don't pass you still pay the full amount next time.

Not trying to sound like an add, but we have changed 1 car (a poster in this thread) to complete Nizpro gear, fitted a stock exhaust system, tuned it to meet the testers requirements and had the car passed through first time.

This test was for a EPA letter received in the mail and not a lab test.

This was possible because presenting the car using complete Nizpro gear was acceptable because Nizpro had a car tested in the emission labs and can now supply paper work showing their kits will meet emission levels

I hope the only reason I get pulled up is because the copper likes the look of it otherwise I might as well bend over & plead for the smallest pineapple. lol.

I guess it pays to be good & try not to stand out too much.

Dillz those other 20s were my little bro's, I still throw them on every now and again, but itll be on the 22s for the next cruise
