What really gets me is the fact that the magazine quotes 'best modified cars in Oz', and not one mention of the XR6T (let alone F6). There is however TWO SS-V sedans, AND an SS-V ute from different 'tuning houses' (in italics for latter mentioned point)! Before anyone jumps on and says that the ford turbo does get a run, it's the friggin G6ET!! (All due respect to G owners, I envy you, but we all know that it ain't the prized performance filly from the Ford stables). The tuning house picked to represent the ford family was, of course *drumroll* Herrod Why, oh why MOTOR did you not include the T, or the F6? And involve any of the real 'tuning houses' in Australia!! Herrod... who? Best modified cars in Oz... say f*ckin what? Wtf have you been smokin? (and more importantly, puff, puff pass mu-fu!) My car has an off-the-shelf-tune from C&V Performance, a real Aussie tuning house, and no mention of them. So many 'real tuning houses' are out there, but they get no mention! You include Whiteline, who isn't a tuner at all, but a manufacturer that makes handling improvement components. The only 'tuning' that company did to the featured cars was adding their own handling products, and out-sourcing the 'tuning' to another company!!What about XFT for the turbo fords? What about Gemballa for the Porsches? What about Xspeed for the jap imports?MOTOR, if you want to do an article on Aus's best modified cars and their tuning houses, then by all means do it, but do it properly FFS!End Rant... for now...

None of the tuners mentioned tunes the fastest of the cars tested, track or strip. Farking farce.Would almost like to see the Wog included other than that lot of chimps..except that Purple beast from KPM,but that still only ran a 13. What gives there ? 460 rwkw. Obviously couldn't hook up but a very sh*t time none the lessBest pass 400m = 11.66 out of the lot.FFSFark I would even do the bastards cold overall. Absolute rubbish the lot.Sure Luffy and co can drive but WTF

However, with the right $$ spent and most importantly having the chassis side sorted I really think that the FG XR6T could finish high up on that list.I really think a serious tuning house should look at this for next year for a bit of fun. The key will in making sure the tyre/wheel/suspension/geometry is set up right......and this needs testing and input from pro drivers before they get to the event. One other big consideration is the type of tune for circuit (progressive boost) is different to drag racing. I think its really something that one of our tuners should take on board.

The biggest issue to note though is that all car's had to meet ADR's, and not be defectable. A bit dissapointing to see the herrod XR8 last considering it's terminal speed at the end of the 1/4, I'm not sure if M/T's were allowed but were surely the demise of the higher powered RWD cars.

I had a quick read of the comparison last night but neglected the jap 4wd cars (Evo/wrx) as they don't interest me, but they both appeared to be MIDLY tuned. Herrod blew 11g on an engine WTF. It would take around that amount of money to have the evo/wrx put out 250rwkw, and they would run flat/mid 1/4 times on street tyres

You can do they same job with springs and bump/rebound adjustable shocks. for the wheels, you could run 9' +25 without even needing an engineers cert in NSW. The wheel track issue is measured from the wheels centreline.....so its a product of offset, not width. And I beleive you can get + 2' engineered in NSW. You can run 12mm less offset than stock per side (stock at +36) before you get into wheel track problems with the authorities....A lot of those cars were highly modified with upwards of 50k spent on mods.
