Incase anybody was so bored as to watch that tripe last night they had a story about speed cameras on the Ring Road. They provided purely outdated / wrong facts and I beleive anybody watching who beleived their dribble could get booked because of it. First of all, forget everything they said. You will not have a chance in hell of disputing any ticket on the Ring Road due to "wind movement". That is based on the cameras being laser or radar, these are not. They use a device at wheel level that measures distance over time. These devices are newish and just about 100% accurate, the funny thing is in that story they actually had the camera filming in the direction of a ground based device which was completely visible lol.

You cannot challenge Ring Road camera fines on that basis, ignore their (TT) filthy lies and save yourself the money.

don't speed and they'd go out of business.. don't hate the player, hate the game.

easier said than done.. although I havent had a fine in over 3.5 years so im not doing too bad.. still sh*ts me though crawling at 70kph on dual lane wide as fook roads with no houses on them and a massive median strip. quite a few around my area that are 60 or 70 yet are wider, straighter and safer than the friggen freeway with no houses/schools/parks on them either!!

I think it'll be the same as what we're gonna have soon mate, two cameras at say 10km distance between each down the freeway. First camera logs your rego at a certain time, second one logs you 10 k's down the road, and if you make it there in under a set time limit, you were speeding!

I saw that story and knew it was crap.

It astounds me that they can be so wrong about basic information.

It goes to show you how pathetic TT and ACA are when it comes to putting up stories with no factual evidence.

There are 2 nasty technologies that are on the horizion. Averages over distance, that can be easily switched on at toll points and another is DBC (Distance between cars).

This is a camera that will book you for tailgating and speeding all in one handy 8x6 picture of your car.

The government told me that if I exceed the speedlimit by more than 5km/h I would instantly die. I am glad they told me this......

oh yeh the point to point ones?? so basically for 9.5kms you fang like no tomorrow hitting Vmax at every opportunity then 500m from the finish camera you pull over and have a beer/scotch/rail of coke/glass BBQ/kill a hooker just so your average drops...

I would love the government to get an independent, non-biased, not anti-car or pro-pedestrian and non-dependent on govt grant type company to report on all stats to do with traffic volume, accidents, speed statistics, revenue raising statistics, road conditions vs accidents, government expenditure on revenue raising vs real crime fighting etc and publish them for everyone to see. I bet the govt will never let this happen and for good reason too.
