Has Your Driving Style Changed

While I was on my way home from work today (thinking to myself in a daze) I realised that after getting my car back from being tuned my driving style has changed alot!

Before the work was done on my T I wasnt a stupid driver but a I wasnt affraid of giving it a good hit.

I wasnt speeding at all but was getting to the speed limit quickly and had plenty of fun showing the what our beloved turbos can do.

Now after getting the car back I would have to be one of the biggest sunday drivers around

I know I have plenty more power there than before, but I now hardly use it.

What I want to know is,

after getting mods done to your car did you settle down behind the wheel?

or do you use every single drop of the extra hp at every chance you get?

still give it some when the situation/urge warrants it. But I am extremely respectful of what's on tap.

It only takes an overly exuberant twitch of the right foot and these things can become very dangerous, very quickly.

For me it was a steady progression from a Stock T 185 rwkw to 280 Rwkw, then a Phoon with 312 rwkw and another Phoon with 370 rwkw.

All of the above were a big leap from stock NA sixes 7 years ago.

The best way to find your car and your own limits is on a track. Not a public road

I drive like a grandma 90% of the time these days, tyres are too bloody expensive!

I drive harder now with the mods, unless my son is in the car then I drive like a grandma

I went from a vt commy, to the BF XR6t and then no more than 2 months later have wound it up to 330rwkw. I'm impressed don't get me wrong, but after having only bought the commy in 2005 and having ridden 1000cc sportbike for the 9 years leading up to that and still on a CBR 1000rr, I'm still searching for that 'rush' the Litre bikes give you when you feed it to them and your arms wanna rip out of their sockets.

I know it probably sounds stupid to some, but I learnt very quickly when I got my first big bike that the wright wrist controlls the twist, in other words the bike throttle will only do what your wrist tells it to do, never more, and certainly never less. I feel it's the same with the car. I'm happy with my 330 atm, but I'm putting some serious thought into my next move. 1. bf2 F6 than go straight for a full kit and some internal mods 2. trick this one out more 3. move into a turbo territiry of an FGxr6/F6. My driving style has changed, I now tickle instead of tramp, but the goal still remains the same. Power, finess, and drivability with a little mayhem in there for thrills.

I'd say yeah, slowed down alot. Speed gains a lot quicker now than when stock, very dangerous on busy streets. But I make an effort to give it a boot at least once a day, I paid for it, may as well use it. I ALWAYS boot it past Hawkesbury Valley Expensive Daewoo as I know a few workers there, people always look when they hear the turbo going and breaking traction in second and third. They must hate it when their trying to sell an SS and a 2005 model Falcon on boost comes flying past breaking traction, haha!

The mods in the go department dont begin till next week but just having done the suspension and brakes has altered things for me on long drives. I am now more relentless through winding roads as the thing sticks like sh&t to a blanket.

Still very sane but no longer feels like it is pushing its limits when you tip it into a corner.

Point to point over any substantial distance is definitely much quicker.

Find out next week. Probaly harder. Well not harder same amount of foot, just will go a whole heap quicker.

But once I get my tyres I think I'll slow right down!
