Vixen its the electronic throttle fault there pretty common in these cars either ford could re flash it to fix it or a custom tune will.

that's why I put that in the edit my car used to do it all the time, some times when I was driving aswell, just strated shaking and going, burp burp burp, untile I shut it off and started the car again. but yeah a flash fixed it and its never happen again.

yer. I get no warning lights at all, and if I turn it off while its running rough, it either wont start again or will and continue running crap for a minute. wouldnt be supprised if resetting the tps that way screws things, it feels wrong doing it..

Dont reset the tps like that!!!

Mine was like that had no warning lights at all.

Try cleaning the sensor I dont think it fixed my car completely but it help a hell of a lot... it hard to tell at the moment coz my car sits outside at night in a big back yard and starting it at 4am I dont no if its the cold weather is doing it now or not.

both of mine have had this issue at various times recently, my neighbour works at ford service and gave me a few bottles of engine oil flush and told me to flush and change the oil because the vct solonoid gums up and causes this condition.

ta all, will give that a look tomorro when I can see.

I can now rule out it only happening when cold. For the first time in months its happened again. On my way home from workies, I pulled up to a set of light. While waiting my car started to stall (occasionally, the revs drop and almost stalls) after this I started it again it began to carry on like it was on 5-4 cyls again. When I could, I pulled over and turned it off, then started again and all was back to usuall.

F*&k this sh*ts me!!
