99% of the skylines you see on the street or at the drags are just basic snot boxes that are all noise and no action.

Yes a GTR of any year is an awesome machine and in the right hands would be hard to beat on the street if it was well maintained.

The fact is though most guys that you see running round in skylines think they are driving total weapons but they are just driving basic little jap econo boxes that are noting like a GTR.

I have seen loads of skylines at the drags on T&T nights and all of them have been VERY slow (ie cant do much better than 14's) I am yet to see a decent drag skyline "in the flesh" that can do good times basically because that costs a huge amount of coin (yes I agree as it does in any car), but even just a decent one that can run in the 12's or 11's has not been out yet there have been LOADS of turbo and V8 FORDS and Expensive Daewoo 100% street cars out at the drags that run 11's in full street trim.

I think the negativity in this thread is because a GTR is pretty rare on the road, and really should not be compared to a XR6T as its not a fair comparo, the XR6T should be compared to the skyline GTS (2.5L turbo 2wd).

The GTR is hugely expensive compared to a XR6T to purchase and can swallow MASSIVE coin to modify and maintain and if FORD did an AWD XR6T it would be a decent comparo.

Of course they cant be compared in speed/cost (initial and upgrade), and I take Tra1ners point - my choice of words was inaccurate as a hardly modded R35 was beaten by a highly modded g6t - ill cop it on the chin that I was wrong not knowing the facts of the drag.

Lets see how the same g6T would go against this also street legal, shoping trolley (but highly modded as per the g6T, so closer to "like for like"). Way more $$ yes, but both designed for he drags and ill back the R35 thanks......ha ha

Of course they aren't comparable (already pointed out numerous times) was just pointing out heavily modified v heavily modified (the only "like" between the two) the difference in times and capabilites between the cars.

Nothing more, which is why its a stupid thread (and arguing that Ts "smash" Skylines including R35s).

If you get a stock GTS-T 34 Skyline and a stock FG XR6T, give them the same budget, the XR6T will walk all over it with 2 kids and the missus in the car comfortably.

In a straight line... Put it around a track and the FG will be in the sand on the first corner.

I'd much prefer a Ford Meteor anyway. Sex on wheels.
