Check the red Ps on that R34!

Got chopped by this today, knew what I was in for due to reading his build thread. It puts out 517rwhp/385rwkw on E42.5 mix and is lightened for racing (no air con etc). When he got on gate it was angry!

my mate let me drive his r32 gtr soon after it was run in after a full rebuild.

it still had the stock turbos and tune, so roll on acceleration wasn't any quicker than my ke20.

he suggested I try and launch it at between 5000-6000rpm, so I did and luckily snapped second gear perfectly and voila, the sub 5 second 0-100 which had always intrigued me how it could do that with such relative little power. I loved how the back wheels shifted for about half a second then the fronts just pull you into the full launch.

its now got a t04z, cams and other stuff but I haven't driven it yet. perhaps not as 'nice' to drive now?

Yeah my mate has a LJ Torana with a 383 chev and a Vortech Supercharger on it and a Powerglide etc that made 700 HP

at the tyres at that time and he had a run with another mate with a 32 GT-R that made 330 KW at all four and because of the GT-Rs

launch and the LJs lack of traction it took the Torana at least 300 meters to get the GT-R Back in.

A good way to settle this discussion is the upcoming Superlap. Plazmaman have a crazy f6 ute they are entering and I know another guy on here is racing as well.

This is an old thread for sure....ha ha

Personally, I would back any GTR skyline to smash any T in a real race. They are lighter, almost as powerful, just as easily tuned and have far better grip - of course they are faster unless huge $$$ are thrown at a T.

LOL!!!!

We all know your bias (you think your average T beats everything also) but please......

Is this like a Lord of the RIngs fantasy thread? Was the R35 ignition on? Did it have four wheels? Could the driver reach the pedals? ha ha
