04/04/09 03:39 AM04/04/09 03:39 AM #2 The price is about right, but Fitting is where it will cost more.I would NOT risk getting them from ebay to save money as they could be anything and you will not know until the tuner calls you up or they fail and cost you a motor.Deal with a local tuner that will do the whole job.
04/04/09 03:42 AM04/04/09 03:42 AM #3 Author Yes true thought about that already but the guy I have been talking to is trying to rip me off and dont really know of anyone else in the area
04/04/09 04:51 AM04/04/09 04:51 AM #4 Have a look at the sponsors section. There are several forum sponsors from Melbourne, I would just find one near your place and contact them.I am sure that someone that knows your location could suggest a few good places as well.As I mentioned, do not buy the parts from ebay, as it will cost you more in the long run. The only 2 springs I would deal with are either Atomic or Nizpro and I would only get them froma reputable tuning or parts shop.
04/04/09 05:04 AM04/04/09 05:04 AM #5 I would go witht the nizpro springs.proven to work and around half the price of the ebay items that you mentioned.I personally would never buy anything for my car off ebay, would rather buy something brand new! 06/04/09 01:32 AM06/04/09 01:32 AM #6 nizpro springs go soft, ring atomic, he has different setd depending on your requirments, reasonable price too
06/04/09 01:55 AM06/04/09 01:55 AM #7 Yes there seems to be a few Nizpro springs on a few cars of late, including mine, that are showing signs of failing. Atomic or Crow both have 2 types available. One to suite standard retainers and one needs retainers, which they sell luckily
06/04/09 02:28 AM06/04/09 02:28 AM #8 I would go witht the nizpro springs.proven to work and around half the price of the ebay items that you mentioned.I personally would never buy anything for my car off ebay, would rather buy something brand new!these ones on ebay are new and come with retainers as well as valve springs so are on par with antthing else if you have to buy them seperate... plus come from a business..
06/04/09 02:59 AM06/04/09 02:59 AM #9 From the ebay ad I saw, it looks like it is an individual gregmiranda1 that is selling these items. You do not know what you are getting, do not get the same level of warranty support as you would from a reputable workshop and will be taking a risk if purchased.Say you purchased these springs and one was faulty and it sent a valve down to meet a piston, who would cover the damage ?It is a blame game that would result in the purchaser wearing the cost. If the parts were supplied and fitted by a workshop, they would wear the costs. There is just too much risk in buying these internal parts from ebay IMHO.
06/04/09 03:27 AM06/04/09 03:27 AM #10 yeah true , than again I wood lik to see a work shop pay if a valve droped like you are saying cos they will just try and blame something else.... but I have been doing some shopping around between different tuners on the list of sponsors and is amazing how much of a rip off some of them are for the same things. personally I am going for atomic springs.. but that is the risk you take if you buy things seperate then taking to someone to fit no warranty like you said..
