Risking Bottom End

read the after you get over 300rwkw in the BA's your risking your bottom end. if the valve springs and a harmonic balancer were upgraded would I be still risking bottom end? IF so what parts are likely to go and at how much rwkw?

Valve springs and a balancer wont make any difference to the strenght of a BA bottom end. The rods are the issues. BA's will support good power but it only takes the slightest rattle or ping and your picking up bits off the road......

Toothpick rods will let go with detonation even if you have the best valve springs & balancer on the market.

Just go to a reputable tune shop & they'll know the limits of your car mate

The stronger valve springs are actually more likely to help pop the motor as they will hold the boost in!

me too hahaha yeh dude its all to do with the tuner and how agressive he makes the tune/boost/fuel lots of things to be of concern just be warey it could happen

I know your going to say "it will cost alot" but if the rods were replaced with the typhoon rods would motor be sweet?

It would be/ could be 20% stronger... alot of effort to go to for a small increase in safty, if your rebuilding the motor get better rods than BF rods

if your going to the effort of strengthening your bottom end do it properly and get something like an atomic built motor. More $$$ but you have piece of mind.

I believe boost is a big factor in bent rods also. wind it in too quick and your going to have problems!
