January 17, 200917 yr #1 Hey guys. The girly is thinking of getting rid of the Territory for something 'smaller' so I suggested an XR5.However, she only has an auto license. Yeah yeah, I know.Is the XR5 available with an auto transmission?
January 17, 200917 yr #2 As far as I know they only made the in the manual. She can always learn to drive a manual Russ
January 17, 200917 yr #3 Author I thought that may have been the case.Been trying for nearly 10 years to get her to get a manual license. Bloody stuborn woman. Sh!ts me to tears.
January 17, 200917 yr #4 There will be a dual clutch/DSG version available some time soon I think. Some Euro Focus's already have it, and it will spread through out the range. Ford call it powershift.Isn't the Mondeo XR5 available as an auto? Edited January 17, 200917 yr by Venom XR6
January 17, 200917 yr #6 Author You wanna try and teach her, be my guest. She's too stubborn to even contemplate the idea.According to the Ford website the Mondeo XR5 is manual only also.

Ford call it powershift.Isn't the Mondeo XR5 available as an auto? Both XR5's are manual only. But strong rumour of an auto version coming. They have to do it to keep the range going. XR5 (Focus) would be a little weapon with a 6SP auto in it!
January 18, 200917 yr #9 You wanna try and teach her, be my guest. She's too stubborn to even contemplate the idea.As bad as this sounds, and may be a evil thing to say, but just ask her - what happens in the event of an emergency and what would she do if she had no option but to drive a manual? As bad as it sounds, worked for me, and she (now an ex) quickly saw the advantage, fun and enjoyment in driving a Spanish car!
January 18, 200917 yr #10 People who can drive a manual are becoming a rare breed, more and more people are getting auto only licences I spouse its just easier to stick the car into drive and the mind into neutral these days.
