I have a low kilometre policy (under 10 000kms per year) with CGU.

Would never insure my beloved Ford with AAMI, CGU only gets the best in town to do there repair work (know this from experience)

$666 with a $450 excess. I am 25.

Insuring my baby with RACV. 21 year old, no claims, 3 years NCD.

$1700 with a $550 excess, or $1100 with a $1500 excess. Living in Cairnlea, VIC. I'm taking the $1100 option and paying $110 a month =]

Compare this to when I had a 96 Honda Prelude with 96kW when I was 19. Comp insurance cost me $2500 a year. Now have 2.5x the power and paying a fraction of the price!

I am a 30 year old and I called and got quotes from every bloody insurance company recently.

I went with Coles Insurance and it cost me $757 for full comp with all the trimmings (with just me as the driver) and $836 with my wife on the policy as well (she is 28, hence the increase)

Age is the killer.

Costs me more to insure a 1990 Toyota Seca for $2,500 than my 2009 FG XR6T for $39,000.

My 18 year old son drives the Seca. He has Zero at fault accidents and Zero fines. But is young.

I have 2 nominated drivers for the Turbo. My wife is 46 , I am 56.

Nice to have some benefits from all those Birthdays

Get third party fire and theft on corolla... If it's only worth $2500 why pay such a high premium?

BF MK II XR6T 06

I'm with AAMI, all others overcharged me, but I've done AAMI's defensive driver course as well, get a deduction, don't have any accidents or tickets so works out to be $1600 for comprehensive. I guess only time will reduce the costs.... when do they start cutting prices, as in "when do I become a safer driver?" - next bracket at 25???
