Really need a aftermarket unit herejust wondering what are the mods to the valvebody and is there point changing to xr8 valvebody as I herd they are better.cheers joel Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/48502-rebuild-of-my-4speed-auto-with-video-and-pics/page/3/#findComment-783531 Share on other sites

With the way of clutch packs I heard there's no such thing as an aftermarket kevlar option? My 1st gear has started slipping (stops pulling and just revs out after 60kmh) and I've been running 270rwkw for a year. Would an aftermarket high stall, say a dominator 3000 be too brutal on the trans, as I've heard torque is what kills these boxes too, and a high stall being a torque multiplier = bad in the long run? The Band is a hi energy band.Plantry's are treated, but this still doesn't stop them from failing. I've broken 3 sets to date.Valve body modifications basically include increasing flow to the Bar and Car circuits. There's a bit of work there. And also couple of springs are swapped out for heavier set. As for exact details.. Trying to describe that would be.. Impossible =) Plus.. This is stuff auto builders like keeping secret.Oh and also. Some auto shops make a aftermarket Servo for the Band Apply (2nd and 4th gear). I've also got this in my auto.
