Impoving The Standard 6 Stacker

Just wondering if anybody has done a drive in drive out sound system improvement, better amp & speakers etc without filling the boot with Subs and things. I basically just want to improve a bit on the factory system?

Any help would be appreciated

I fitted a rockford 360 line converter, turns speaker wire imputs into coaxial - run an amp under the passager seat and change the speakers. I went alpine 5x7 typr front as they direct bolt in and 6x9 in rear.

heaps better sound, visually no difference from stock.

you could just add speakers to your car how it is at the moment and wire it to the stock amp.

if you want to run some quality sound with the addition of an amp, the best thing to look at would be a rockford fosgate 360 or an alpine vehicle hub pro. add some decent speakers with an amp to that, put them under the seats and away you go.

the audiocontrol lc6i is another low level converter with rca outputs.

I went the alpine vehicle hub pro in mine, they are good to run amps off and then run new speakers, plus I hooked up a six stack dvd player to the factory screen (ford premium sound package) and also hooked my ipod up to it, it goes heaps better than standard and can't really tell its changed

Boston Acoustic 5X7's in mine, sounds alot better and you can max out the volume without any problems. You will notice the standard sub will need replacing also, it is a pieace of crap!

How much u looking to spend all up mate?

You 'could' get urself a new set of front splits - like Pioneer E series for about $300, pull out the old amp and run a new 4 ch with high level line inputs (no need for the hubs).

Forget about your rears, just leave them as a fill speaker, and turn the gain down on the amp (you u wont blow the stock speakers)... replace the sub and get a mono or small 2ch amp...Sub 10" with a spacer... looking at about 150-200$

If you dont want 2x amps, get a 5ch to run it all!

nice amp for about $500-$600, and the front splits, new cable, and your done for about $1000...

Reason not to worry about the rears is- simply think about when you listen to cd's at home... its from 2x front speakers... same in your car... u drive and therefore are in the front... unless someone extra important is in the back... WHO GIVES A sh*t!

Check out you local JB Hifi (but stay away from their own branded stuff...)

Make sure you have a listen to the gear before you buy it and make sure it is all run flat without any treble or bass boost!

I replaced my standard (premium speakers) with momo polk brand 5/7 and it sounds sweet about $250 a pair
