Should I Or Not

Howdy all, I am heading out to the local strip on sunday for a Red Vs Blue day but I'm really debating if I should run or not. Most of you would have read what mods and power I have. I'm just worried about the stabdard clutch going bye bye. I was not planning on launching hard or anything just easy of the line and then give it a boot full. I onlywant to run just to get an idea of what time the ute could do and just to have a bit of legal fun. So if any of you have around 300Kw and a standard clutch that have run the quater how did it stand up to it.

If it's fine on the street it should be fine on he strip too as long you don't launch too hard. I burned my clutch with 265rwkw, it doesn't like high RPM launches.

Just don't abuse it and it should be fine and as the previous post said, you got to give it a go.

It's just a hard choice as a new clutch at the moment is not gunna happen. I have a day to think about it so will see what happens on Sunday. My head says one thing and my foot says another :banghead:

if you cant afford a new clutch dont go, you can just about guarentee you will hurt it.

Drag racing launches are are hard on clutches, if you dont kill it, you will definitely shorten its life.

I ran a best of 13.8 with my standard clutch with 288rwkw, just kept slipping, not worth it IMO

Yeah its pretty much not worth it with the stocker. You have to launch really tame and easy to which ends up a very ordinary time.

I did around 10 passes on my stock clutch, most of them slipped at the start or further down the track... my main interest was the MPH though

Well I decided f*ck it........ I will have a run. Ended up running the whole day not really much clutch slip that I could notice, more tyre slip than anything. My best time was 13.571 @ 111.11Mph. Not sure about the speed as I did get a slip saying I did 214.8Mph(I wish). No burnout and a very easy launch then a boot full in second. I won 7/8 with the other guy either breaking out or fouling but a couple were just to slow But the best news of the day is the clutch survived and FORD won the day. Considering we were outnumber by about 2 to 1 we still pulled through. So no more drags until I get a new clutch don't want to push my luck.

Hey nice work mate! With a better launch you will be able to drop those times, I'm doing 13.0 @ 111mph (can't crack the 12 yet! )
