ive been having problems with my car starting for over six months back fires and a ruff idle for a few seconds every few starts been to ford a crap load of times and they could never find the problem .....................

that was untill last week with when dominli ford said try changing the battery its a little small cold cranking wise and maybe that's whats cauing the problem by creating a voltage drop across the computer and sensors on start up even though its cranking like normal and the battery still has plenty of life left in it ...

ill be honest being an electrican and fixing gensets for over 6 years I thought to myself bullsh*t and in the past ive load tested the battery fitted and also put a volt meter across the battery on start up thinking the same thing could be causing the problem but each time I thought the results I obtain where ok but guess I must have been wrong

so on monday arvo I put 600amp battery in from nrma for 170 bucks fitted and delivered to my house and guess what fingers crossed so far problem fixed ............................but guess only time will tell

cheers ..trev

I bought a couple of Odyssey batteries a few years back, one for my Ford AU and one for my Daihatsu Charade. The ford worked fine and the charade sh*t itself in 12months, now they have a 2year warranty and with receipt in hand Autobarn sent it back to the company and they didn't want a bar of it, no warranty, no exchange.

The bloke from odyssey said that it had been in a low state of charge for too long!, it was in the farkin car starting a woohoo 1.5lt motor...

Anyway what I am saying is F@CK Odyssey the Dirty Dirty C#nts...

Make sure that you replace the battery with a 600 CCA rated one - not the crappy 480 CCA ones.

I picked up a SuperCharge Gold MF50 (600CCA) for $159 at Supercheap on the weekend

mines starting to show signs of dying. Most batteries have a 12month warranty & have seen some die in less than 3 months (not in a car). Worst thing for them is a lack of use & of coarse lack of maintenance. That you for cal cal batteries.
