Mate, my favourite pushback is when im doing about 80 kph then squeeze it on. Nothing like it.

Like the other guys say, you do get used to it after a while and do more mods, then you do get used to it and do more mods, then you do get used to it and do more mods and so on and so on. Get the T.

Cheers, Geoff

I better start saving then for mods in that case too :). Can the 6 speed manual gear box and stock clutch hold its own for 300rwkw+???

 MVP

The box in ours is fine (2006 BF 6Sp) but definately think/save for a clutch. We did ours upfront, and if the $$'s can handle it I would suggest the AP racing clutch as the go. Is is so smooth, I make sure I get that push back feeling, if I'm just dropping the kids at school, or showing off, I luv it!!

Our Mods = Xtreme Ford Tuning (Perth) Custom Tune 318rww, F6CAI, Nizpro Injectors, Plazmaman Intercooler, AP Racing Clutch, 5' cat and dump...

Some thing I dont reccommed.....Removal of centre muffler - nasty - but its a toy, trial and error and $$'s.

Like they say...... Just do it...... & for everything else there's.... Mastercard!!!

Thanks for the advice champ. It looks like the 6 speed manual is the best option then... With only a few mods the 6t certainly comes alive... I'm a little excited now. Hoping to get one in the next couple of months.

Yep just do it and enjoy. It was a fluke that we ended up with the manual, it was just there and the right price, couldn't be happier. Then CAPA box and that only lasted a week before off to the tuner.

My Brother has an EVO VIII MR and after driving that, not only is it fast it feels fast.

MVP

My sons Evo 8 MR didn't feel very fast when I drove it. It goes faster now with some mods.

Point is it always depends on what you are used to.

Apply mods to the Ford and you'll get a 'push' in the back.

I picked up my car from Nizpro today after it spent a couple of days there and when I drove it back, it gave me that push in your seat and it made me realise (again) how quick these car's are once they are modified. Mind you, I only have 306rwkw's which is pretty much normal for a T these day's. lol

Buy it and you wont look back.

cheers,

San.

Many of the body's senses respond to change rather than steady state. People in general are far less sensitive to continuous pressure than they are to the onset (or cessation) of pressure.

The XR6T and F6 automatics have near perfectly flat torque profiles. This results in nearly perfectly constant acceleration. In turn this results in a constant pressure in the back. (digram below - note the lack of curvature and near constant gradient of speed denoting near constant acceleration. BAxr6t-4A)

Constant acceleration is an exceedingly efficient means of gaining speed because it minimizes peak stress on the cars contact patch for any given amount of energy being routed through the patch. A similar idea applies to the engine and driveline where high average and low peak component velocity produces lower overall friction loss and lower mechanical parasitic losses.

However, as far as your body is concerned the experience of constant acceleration is not that interesting. The result is that for any given amount of speed gained it would be difficult to imagine a car with less 'push in the back factor' than the automatic XR6T/F6 variants.

To put it another way, for any given amount of perceived stuffing around the automatic XR6T/F6 variants have gained more speed than almost any other car you care to imagine. What you see out the window of an automatic XR6T/F6 variant is somewhat disconnected from the experience being reported by the bumometer, the B-meter.

A jet takeoff is an interesting analogue, the body perceives the initial throttle up more than it does the near constant acceleration that follows.

The manual transmission cars are altogether different. These undergo frequent and large changes in the acceleration vector do to the effect of gear changing. This results a much higher 'push in the back factor', however the process is not as an efficient means to gain speed.

Regards,

aa

I agree completely. a mate of mine has a ba with 330rwhp manual & it feels ridicleous & then id get into mine which was 313rwhp 6sp auto & id leave him behind about half way down the 1/4 but felt ordinary. its very deceiving. even now with 430 his still feels quick but my rear view mirror says otherwise
