Yeah that just sounds like some random dudes opinion, I wouldn't take it as Gospel.

"Also most performance rice burners are quicker around the track than any HSV or FPV (stock) so if you want pure strait line or track performance buy an EVO if you want muscle then buy one of the aforementioned. People have to be realistic these are family cars with enormous engines that’s it. How much performance can anyone expect these are not race/rally breed or designed machines."

LOL.

mate that's a bit stereotypical isnt it im on my p's had the T for two years no probs. not all p platers a dick heads. plus im upgrading to a FG G6ET so p platers can afford now too.

It's a fair stereotype. The vast majority of P-Platers in modded cars do stupid sh*t. If we took a poll, most of the people here would put their hand up and confess to doing stupid sh*t on their P's that they wouldn't do now.

I've never known a P-Plater that has a modded car and never shown off in it. That's not to say there aren't sensible P-Platers with modded cars, but it kinda cuts against the grain.

Hats off to you for having a high performance car and being more sensible than the norm.

Lest face it, who would noy buy a new Falcon if they realease them with 300rwkw and 750 Nm of tourque. The answer I believe is that all those that could afford it would and the rest of us would dream, its markest forces, so all thsoe pussies asking lower power cars go to www.honda.com.

The car makers need to look at weight reductions as a priority rather than engine power. With reductions in weight, we will see better performance, handling and better fuel economy.

Buying a car today that averages 14l/100km is a joke. All cars should be under 9lt/100km and still offer great perfomance and safety.

Instead our car makers are adding weight and then putting bigger motors into cars to get the perfomance.

Give me a 300kw, 1200kg car with 8lt/100km and I will be happy.

Agree 100% Zap

Australia has the largest deposit of Bauxite in the world yet Ford is too stupid to dig some up and make much lighter cars from it.

Ohhh I tell a lie ... Ford decide to manufacture the FG front wishbone assembly from aluminium and discovered they saved 22kg over the BF/BA :makedeal:

Another 5 yrs and Ford may have aluminium bonnets and front guards even :stupid:

Seriously Ford and Expensive Daewoo aren't even trying to reduce the weight of these cars. Am sure only a very small proportion of the FG development budget was allocated to weight reduction!!!

Dont hold your breath waiting for a lightweight Falcon from Ford :secret:

aluminum may save wieght but it adds to the cost. Its a hard metal to work with.

If you want to save weight, chuck out your AC, electric windows, power seats, the sound deading and all your other mod cons.

Its all these lux items that make the car heavy, but strangely these are the items customers want, go figure

We have to remember that Ford isn't exactly in the financial position to pioneer new manufacturing processes in Australia, we also have to take into consideration of the cost of developing a safer lightweight car - not just light, but safer too - while Ford are struggling to sell cars with a competitive product, how can they rationalise to spend a rediculous amount of money on a low volume low profit, specialist vehicle?

If Ford was in a similar position to say, Porsche for example, they would be able to have an active "black project" dept for things like a lightweight falcon. I'd like to see it too guys, but we have face facts that Ford are still on their knees and will be for a few more years to come.
