have seen bf mk11's suffer from valve float before...

had a good friend get a custom tune on his mk2 bf ute and he managed 235rwkw before valve float... if valve springs were installed then he should have been looking at around 250rwkw

f6 valve springs arent too reliable either.. yeh you will get some that will be sweet and then you will get some that will be absolutely crap.

best to add them in to be on the safe side, and you wont have to worry about doing them later on down the track

Wouldn't recommend getting the tune done up here.

I have been talking to a few of the tuners on this forum though, and if we can get enough interest together we might be able to have a proven, reliable tuner up here for a few days tuning our cars.

devo, I also have a BF MKII. The C&V boxes with generic tunes are great value at $495 and everything looked good on the dyno. I am having trouble with pinging at the moment, but it is happening even on the stock tune so my problem may lie elsewhere.

Ok, let me throw a spanner in the works.

Get Nizpro's latest intercooler - the advantage is a lower pressure drop across, so, for a lower turbo-discharge pressure you will be making the same power as with a more restrictive cooler - plus, you get a way more efficient cooler in terms of cooling capacity.

Hand in hand with that, get valvesprings, and a custom tune.

Should see you close to 280 rwkw's, which should be plenty, and at overall lower turbo discharge pressure, and temps :) A win-win.

Enjoy, and keep us posted.

Only get the valve springs IF it needs them.

A decent intercooler & piping kit, with a custom Edit tune will get you to mid 200wkws which is the max for the stock injectors, thrown in some siemens 60lb injectors and you'll be at 280 or so for under your $3000. Do the cat if the budget will stretch another 500 or so

Valve sprins are a good $1000 to do, so only do this once you've done your mods and the stock springs are not coping... alot of BF11's are not having valve spring issues at this level, so you should be fine.

Twin plate clutch, custom tune and injectors. That should be about 3k.

The clutch is an important one. No good spending anything on bolt on go fast bits if you cant get the extra power to the ground.

Dont ask me how I know. I'm getting a new clutch fitted tomorrow!

When you get more cash together, get a big intercooler set up, actuator, port job and exhaust. Getting these before you get your clutch sorted is just a waste of time!

If yours is a new BFII ute ( not just new to you) then you wont be needing valve springs for a while so don't waste your money on them. Use that money on a bullet proof clutch instead. If you need the valve springs down the track then get them at that point.

a mal wood option 3 would be a good choice for a clutch. around 1800 with all the trimmings.
