She bort a Mazda 3 - no problem. My gf, wisely, said she didnt want any paint protection nonsense to the salesmen.Anyway, a little while later a female salesman from the dealership calls trying to sell the fccking 'Mazda protection pack' or some such SHHT!I was very friendly on the phone but was amazed at her genuine tone!! Fcck me! She said this protection pack was reduced by Mazda from 3100 to $1600! (Who ever paid that $3000???) Which includes tinting for free! (NOTHING is for free!!!) The tinting is valued at $495 - you cant buy the pack without it and get the price reduced!Oh fcck me! She told me this tint did everything but fix the Pope's fccking hemmoroids! It reduces heat 70% which saves aircon units, keeps windows from shattering and some other fccking bullsh*t! She told me if the carpet protection failed and smells penetrated the carpet that it would be replaced under warranty. Oh lord, vinyl protection, blah blah blah...I dont want my f*cking carpets ripped out and replaced by a teenager on poor wages!Oh fcck me she went on!Rant over...I was totally polite on the phone but THAT, ladies and gents, is why I fccking hate car dealerships. They lie thru their teeth with their rubbery figures and bullsh*t deals.FCCK ME! I'm bloody smart, u cant sell me crap - I see thru it! I said as politely as I could there was no way I was buying into any of it. I cant deny them the right to make money for the dealership.I would suggest to them that ppl who come in to bargain hard arent into overpriced extras. People like my sis who paid full price are likely to buy it coz theyre not car savvy.Sorry for the fruity language in the post at the top, Ive been watching too many Gordon Ramsay Kitchen Nightmares shows, US and UK versions. Its addictve TV. Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/43841-fccking-paint-protection/#findComment-649375 Share on other sites
ZAP No boost, no bottle, just my foot on the throttle! Lifetime Members 7,935 Member For: 21y 4m 7d Gender: Male Location: Sydney Posted 22/03/08 09:37 PM Share Posted 22/03/08 09:37 PM I have a agreement with my car sales person that I will not see or deal with the PP (paint protection) Chick or the sale is off. The last time I had to do it (bout 10 years ago) she was in tears and got abusive.Kept telling me the paint would fade without protection and that the underbody needed sealing or it would rust. I mean really..... I came back and said the car has a 3 year warranty and they can respray the car or fix the rust. Then they go on to tell me that I must not care about my car if I do not buy it. This was free reign to tell this bimbo the facts of life and selling. She was very upset and ran from the office in tears. The next 3 cars I bought from that dealer, did not require the PPG seeing me.It is funny they are always young girls with low cut tops and big knockers.....I guess most new car buyers are blokes. Last time I bought a car there they made practically no money off it (coz I got the privledge club discount) and they tried EVERYTHING to get me to get the tint and paint protection. I told them I can get it for more than 1/2 what they were charging and they left me alone. I bought the F6 from the same guy, and he didn't even bother asking me the second time. Such a rip off! Apparently the paint protection package was going to get rid of all the orange peel in the paint.......!!! WOW!I just sat there shaking my head while this chick crapped on to my partner. After her story about it all, she looked at me and said "why are you so against this?"I wonder if the paint protection involved clay barring the car at all? Cause as soon as my mrs got it home I intended on giving it a coat of sealer and glaze and some turtle wax. But when I did the ol "hand in a sandwhich bag trick" the paint was as rough as all *beep*! I couldnt beleive that a brand new car could have so many contaminants in the paint... Either way, it got clay barred, sealer and glazed and turtle waxed and now feels as smooth as glass.
