Yeah saw that on YouTube, pretty epic and good effort. Few guys saying though that the high hp v8s usually kick over 1500 hp but there was none around?

That turbo though looks like it'll suck in small children and turn them into pure kw's haha.

High HP V8's - Jake's Torana threw a leg out of bed on the first dyno day, and with it, went his opportunity to win HP Heroes for the third year running.

As for Mick's XR, I cannot wait to see whether all that turbo (GT55), equates to quick times on the strip. In comparison, the Big Dan Racing's drag XR made approx. 1345rwhp and ran 8.2. So a well set up street car with 1130rwhp should be able to run high 8's. (granted the manual box in Mick's car would be swapped back to an auto for racing duties)

In addition: I spotted a mandarin BA Turbs (YLD-40L) on the Barton heading towards Mitchell, as well as two new Camaro ZL1s in Belco.

Noticed canberra has e85 now. Might have to think about getting my fg tuned on it. under 1.50 litre too. do esp do e85 tunes?

I'd seen a while ago fyshwick was getting e85, only went live 2 days ago by the looks of it http://www.unitedpetroleum.com.au/united/news/news-item/news/2014/03/05/fyshwick-act-now-sells-e85!

Not sure if ill go e85 or just eflex, e85 is not great as a daily on the fuel hoses, also prob won't start to well in the Canberra cold.

what is eflex? I only really drive it on weekends but was thinking about getting 98 tune aswell for when I go trips away on long trips is this posible? Would I have to completly drain my tank of e85 before put 98 back in?

Eflex is sold at some caltexs it's typically e70-76 whereas united e85 is generally around e75 but has been seen up to e92.

So basically a bit less ethanol in the mix for caltex, pros and cons going with either but can make pretty good gains with either and the eflex will be kinder on the fuel lines and everything since it's got less ethanol

Plenty of info around the forums on what u can do. So have a look.

With a tune u can get what u want in a sct x3, most get like a 98 tune and eflex and maybe a valet (only rev to 3000rpm or something).

Can get eflex at tuggeranong or gold creek afaik.

E85 tends to be at least 85% and up to 92 whereas eflex can go from 70-90% and you just can't account for such fluctuations in a single tune. With e85 you can get away with because I think most tuners run a slightly richer tune to account for a higher ethanol content that you occasionally get.

If I was running e85 though I'd probably be running flex-fuel sensor to test the amount in each tank and have a few different tunes, e80, e85, e90, then 98 and valet. x3 allows 10 tunes so can make it work.

As bullet said e85 requires a decent upgrade to the fuel system and regular changing of fuel filters etc to ensure things don't block up.

And yea I'd say ESP would do an E85 tune but I would be going to Sydney and getting a tuner who tunes it alot.

Saw in a performance mag recently an ad for ESP saying they supply e85 so guarantee they'll tune for it.

Problem with all the extra tunes is tuning cost but depends how u wanna roll. I'd say eflex would be the one to need a few more tunes compared to e85 but there's still plenty of ppl who just use the test tube testers without any probs
