  1. lots of roadworks in my area and getting hammered by stone chips, does a wrap provide much protection ?
  2. Well he won HP hero at Nats so great work and congrats to the Impound crew given the the quality of cars around these days it no trival effort to win
  3. just back from a trip Canberra to Mackay at its best 660Klm for a 56L refill or 8.48L/100Klm absolutely outstanding it was over 35' C abiant temps and aircon set on 20 deg just set the cruise control and went
  4. Yup def not street driven type of machine. But seems get spends a lot of time on the street wonder he is not defected every time he drives it All for big worked machines but they are limited use these days
  5. A very very built BA in blueprint with a huge turbo cut through the bonnet hanging around gungahlin/Forde area on Sat. He gave it a squirt onto horse park drive and def had some boost wound in It had a workshop sticker on the side but couldn't read it
  6. would you not want a AMG63 just because of this http://www.autoblog.com/2011/09/22/class-action-lawsuit-to-be-filed-against-mercedes-alleges-amg-v8/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+weblogsinc%2Fautoblog+%28Autoblog%29&utm_content=FaceBook look around and you can find a negative report on almost any car. To me its more important how both the dealer and the factory deal with issues when they occur I am on my 2nd territory with the current TTG after a TX rwd version first up between the 2 of them have racked up over 160000klms and been on trips all over ranging from from Port Douglas to Adelaide with 3 kids and wife in absoute comfort even when we had to get around and a head of the qld floods a couple of years ago its a shame they are killing it off as its a great aussie touring machine and if they had of kept the turbo petrol we would have had our 3rd one by now. when you overtake a roadtrain in western qld with a turbo 6 you know the wonder of HP in a big solid car
  7. Your choice but you do need to put a level of whiners bull s$&@ filter on what you read about problems on car forums not many people get onto a forum just to say how great it is. There is issue with anything mass produced product you have to balance that with how severe and % of total built with issues and even more importantly how the manufacture deals with the issue. I bet I could find just as many bad reports on your SS Late model camira between engine oiling issues, poor tyre wear, real power well below advertised level etc
  8. The turbo and engine is the same a B series so no drama there. Ball joints were part of a factory recall so if haven't been done should be able to get done through ford diff bushes are an issue but not a major drama to fix up Never heard of any issues with front diff They are the best value performance SUV ever sold in AUS IMHO The turbo's also seem to be holding their value pretty well compared to other territories Fuel around town is a little heavy around the 16's with sane driving and the odd squirt but on the highways they eat up the k's and return around the 11's. like a famous physics man said you can not create or destroy energy so if you want HP you need to feed it
  9. G6ET with number plates something like fat gee didnt see exact number plate spotted today going in the opposite direction on horse park drive today
  10. The mk2 are easy to pick up the turbo from front they are the only ones with chrome around the fog lights. The limited and non turbo get painted surrounds. Unlike the mk1 that non turbos also got chrome The business card idea is ok for handing to someone but if you put them on an unattended car then is is considered littering and easy to trace back to the forum. Stupid I know but that's our legal system at work for you.
  11. 3 kids across the back seat of a stang and do 5000klm road trip doesn't sound great. This is where the falcon excelled. Grunt of a muscle car and space of a big tourer
  12. Hi gents its not actually for my XR6T but my other money pitt Jeep, but you guys seem to know who around town does decent work. I need to get some custom brake hard lines down and a full fluid flush for brakes on a Jeep. Most brake shops these days run away from doing real work and just want to replace standard parts. Any recommendations of good workshops that are happy to do custom work without charging like a wounded bull ? Prefer over Gungahlin way but anywhere around ACT if they are good
  13. Territory Turbo's have had a massive slowing of depriciation with the advertised price not really changing in the last 12 months still much less than they sold for and not going up for years to come if at all sadly I think the XR6T will have too many on the road to be any sigficant value but the FPV's may hold special interest for some and keep the prices up a little much like the TE and TS tickfords. Personally I think the last of the GT's will be seen as something special purely for being aussie made V8 cars as I think Expensive Daewoo production will be dead by 2016 also Guess in 30 years we will all know the real truth to this speculation
  14. Not sure if I read right but thought at one stage I saw the XR6 diff was actually a Dana 44 center in IRS format ?? If it is has anyone checked out Dynatrac's D60 IRS ??? http://www.dynatrac.com/products/pro60irs/pro60irs.html looks like it would be a pretty good option for big HP drag car applications in 4x4 world the D44 to D60 swap is pretty common and given that Mopar is a Dynatrac agent this axle can be ordered over the counter at your local jeep dealership if you have the budget
  15. Wrong kinda territory turbo . This section is for one of the cheapest performance SUV's we will ever see in OZ.
