BFs built from May 06 onwards (and of course all BFIIs) have the same engine (stronger rods and valve springs) as the Typhoon.

People are still changing these valve springs as well. I think they are better but still not as good as the after market valve springs.

I was in your exact situation late last year. I went the BA mk11.

My only tip would try and find a manaul with out the clunks. Mine clunks heaps.

I think they are all clunky at low speed.

I got the BF mk II upgrade which is only 2.5months old!

The only mechanical difference between BA II and BF really is the 5 kw from Variable Cam control. The BFs are easier to detect the edit.

The other differences are largely cosmetic, until later BFs that have better rods and valvesprings like the F6.

Just on that note - here you say that the BF's are easier to detect an edit - so you saying that if FORD at a service hook the car up to their computers that there is a good chance they wotn see the car has had its computer modified??

Because the only reason I havent gone out and purchased an edit is that im under the impression that when they hook a computer up to the BF's it will stick out like dog balls that its been modified?

Get a BA MK 1, Lighter, less sound deadening.

Its really exciting, Like playing Russion Roulette wondering when your bottom end is gonna let go..lol joke.

Clunks are in all models, part of the inherent design fault of the driveline (backlash too many cv joints in the drive train, of poor tolerances causing excessive total driveline play.

But hey, its not a 100k BMW, ive learned to get over it and enjoy it for what it is..

Bf also have the territory brakes which are a lot better than the standard ba ones
