  1. I like that sound..... makes me clench my hands...
  2. All the economics is against the sellers... A) Fuel prices coming up, people going for more affordable/economical cars -> less demand -> lower prices B) Interest rates are going up -> variable financing is hurting -> people forced to sell their cars -> extra supply -> additional affect due to people avoiding to buy a car in the current environment -> less demand -> lower prices C) FG... Enough said. My advice would be that if you're thinking of selling sell it now because prices haven't bottomed out yet. The FG is only just out and will take 6-12 months to propagate. Interest rates may still rise and definitely won't be down until at the earliest 2009. Petrol prices are only getting higher. The depreciation in 2008-2009 is going to be worse than 2007-2008... I lose my turbo restriction in november so I'm not complaining however
  3. "And if your going to mod it, make sure its a BF with the stronger internal engine components." Stronger engine components?.. Hmmm... And lol Daga.. Don't feel threatend
  4. Mmm... If you wanted better handling, sifn't get a riceburner! "COMMONWHORE FORUM" A little ironic.. Falcon's aren't the most exclusive of cars either... *runs away*
  5. I'd only go with a manual... nothing like feeling that raw surge of power when you quickly downshift to speed up, say after a tighter bend ... I won't pretend to have driven the auto box, probably should... I just cant imagine how an auto box could do exactly what I want it to. Doesn't it sense when to change gears depending how how hard you push the throttle? Straight away I'd think... hey... what if I want to drive with a wide open throttle in fifth or sixth gear? *shrug*... I currently own a hyundai and if it weren't for the fact that its a manual I'd be so sick of it right now. Its just fun changing gears, haha... Each to their own ultimately. I guess we can only give our own opinions as to what we like and people such as the original poster have to consider their own circumstances!
  6. To the more experienced members of these forums -> any certain mileage milestones in particular for the XR6T, say a BA MKII? Anything in particular I should look out for when buying one at 50-70k km ? I hate to keep asking newbie car buying questions, lol. I'll join in on the expressions of joy when I get it!!
  7. Probably not looking to sell for ages - as long as the machine is fast and fun to drive I'll have no need to pour any more money in a newer vehicle (unless my job lands me one)... My dream car is an Audi RS4 so I think I have a far way to go, lol... Nothing in mind to make me want to get anything Since I'm a auto-noob, how much does a manual gearbox cost to replace? Pretty stupid question I bet. Don't laugh too hard! Hoping for a car around 50-60km so I hope the clunking won't be too bad
  8. Hey there guys, I've recently become a Ford fanatic. I've historically not been much of a car enthusiast but the more and more I read about XR6T's the more and more I want one. Screw the riceburners! I get my full license in November this year (so no more turbo restriction) so I'm already planning what I want... I'm planning on buying a second-hand car, around the 25-30k. I think with the new range of Falcons coming out this year 2nd hand prices should come down a little faster than usual... Just in time! The BA MKII and the original BF seem to fall in a similar price band. I'm trying to find out what are the major differences between the two? I'm def. after the 6-speed manual. Is there much of a difference between the transmissions in these two cars? Any other considerations? I'm trying to learn as much as possible.. All input appreciated! Thanks.
