This is from our man in the V8 Supercar scene:

"Russell Ingall is all but signed to Paul Morris Motorsport next season with sponsorship details being finalized at the moment.

Ingall's replacement will be Paul Dumbrell with the 9 car being sponsored by Autobarn in a multi year deal.

For those of you who don't know Dumbrells old man owns Autobarn.

This is the second time that Dumbrell has replaced Ingall when he took the Perkins seat a few seasons ago.

Why did Russell leave ?

Well his performance of late has not been all that good and he is also getting on a bit and the loss of Caltex as naming rights sponsor.

The relationship between Russell and the Stone Brothers and crew has been rocky to say the least for sometime now so all these things have contributed to his downfall."

Dumbrell would have to be a backward step. Russell would have to be 90 for Dumbrell to be a better option. Surely there's better options out there for Stone Brothers.

Ingall must be swallowing some humble pie going back to Holden. He was pretty outspoken about the Holden (primarily HRT) bias when he left. He also was pretty vocal about how it took switching to Ford to get him a championship. Ah well, he'll be going from one of the front running teams to one of the dregs for his efforts.

If they had any sense they would try and get Chris Alajajian, he is very young and wins every category of racing he enters.

For example: GT production...........first season 1st in a WRX STI

Production series......first season 1st in a Liberty GT

Formula 3................second race ever.....came 2nd .......third race 1st

Then he was given a go of V8 Late model camira in Fujitsu Series, Crapp car, Crapp Team with no sponsors at all

and showed he could progress through the field, was also the first car to come over the hill at Bathurst last year when Mark Porter was killed, but Chris took evasive action which only just clipped the car in the middle of the track, unfortunately it was the next car that cleaned Mark up.
