  4. Yet he could manage to locate the Ford head office phone number and call it instead of 000.
  5. Yep, it has to be a load of crap. Some attempt to get some sort of publicity, or a compo payout from Ford (similar to someone slipping over at Maccas to claim compo). Too many indipendant things went wrong with the car at the same time, then all worked when he really needed it.
  6. Yep, no Bubba was a pisser, but it was great racing though. The crowd booed Bubba's video screen apology
  7. He just f*cked it up. He recently did some freestyle in the US, including a back flip, to proove he's no one dicipline wonder. Yep, it was fantastic racing.
  8. Looks like Chad Reed is planning to jump into a V8 Supercar after his Kawasaki contract is up. I also heard Robbie Madison is looking at a V8 seat as well. Herald Sun Article
  9. How many times does it have to be said. V8 Supercars only get the crowds because of the immense amount of marketing (similar to why Expensive Daewoo can sell inferior cars). Production cars don't receive a fraction of the marketing, the last few 12 hours didn't even rate a mention on most of the sport shows. Also, production car racing lost a hell of a lot of appeal when they first started letting Porche modify their cars, and pegged back the Rx7s, the final straw was allowing Expensive Daewoo to enter their 7 litre, V8 Supercar built Monaros. I know quite a few people, family included who used to watch Aussie toruing cars, but lost interest when it became a two horse race. A properly devised, production based series with the same amount of promotion as the V8s, with V8s included simply has to be better.
  10. I can't agree with that. If the same sort of money and promotion was put into production cars, or modified production cars, they would be popular. You can't compare the lacklustre production car series of today, with the V8 circus. Don't forget where the V8's originated, they were production cars, then modified production cars, then 2 makes simply because Expensive Daewoo didn't have anything to compete with the Sierras and Skylines. It's now denegrated into a cookie cutter series so that the two sole competitors don't have to spend too much money developing cars that can be raced, and to stop it being too one sided. The pre V8 racing was extreemly popular, despite a lack of big business support and organisation that exists now. It could also be said that the enormity of the V8 series is out of necesity due to having to attract viewers from a smaller segment of the population. If you want an example of a production based series being sucessful, that's mostly what they do in europe. Sure the cars are heavily modified, but at leased they are built from a production car, running the same engine blocks as what the cars come with. I can't see how expanding the series' appeal by including more manufacturers with cars the public can actually relate to , will do anything more than increase their total audience. They might loose some knuckle draggers, but who cares.
  11. Couldn't disagree more. Production car racing is far from dead, and would open up the sport's interest to a far wider auduence who'll tune in to see how their car goes, etc. It also prompts manufactuers to develop sport/HO models to be competitive. Just because production car isn't promoted to the enth degree V8 Supercars is, doesn't mean it won't attract viewers. The biggest hurdle is, Ford and Expensive Daewoo won't want to see their cars flogged by imports, nore can they afford to develop models that are capable of doing two laps of a track before falling appart (not a criticism, just fact). That's why a Group C type category with modified production cars could be one option to look at. It can still be a V8 sedan class, and minimum weights could be set. It is dooable, and is far more beneficial for the sport, viewers and manufacturers.
  12. I'm sick of going through all the facts and figures so here's the basic facts that can't be refuted: 1. If you voted for Krudd, you're a f*cking tool! 2. The Libs are sunk unless they grow some balls, turf the Labor stooge Turncoat, and oppose this ETS sh*t! 3. Climate change happens, get over it! 4. Man made climate change is nothing more than a money making load of crap! 5. Supporters of the ETS, Rudd and man made climate change theories are mindless f*cking drones! 6. This country is seriously f*cked if we continue along our current path of pathetic state, federal governments and opposition! 7. Cleaning up pollution needn't involve excessive taxes! 8. Carbon is a natural element and not one of the poloutants we should be targeting! 9. Al Gore is the king tool, who is making billions of $$ from so called green based companies, and ETS brokerage firms! 10. If you try to refute these facts, you're a f*cking tool!
  13. It's not the cars, its the pathetic iPhones. My iToy is the worst phone I've had. I have a Blueant portable bluetooth unit and the iPhone only works on it intermitantly. My old HTC had no problems, nor did my wife's LG. The iPhone is good for music and has a few niftly aps, but for email, and as a phone its more useful as a paperweight.
  14. Givem the General's track record, if Ford brings out a blown V8, Expensive Daewoo will launch a limited edition twin turbo, 7 litre V8 with nitros
  15. As usual, Expensive Daewoo failed to acknowledge that the Ford was subject to the same conditions and test as the Holden. How could they possibly claim they were hard done by. Only a Expensive Daewoo customer would be stupid enough to beleive their crap of "The test had a big hill, hills make our car use more fuel, but don't worry, there aren't any hills on real roads."

Who says the HSVs are quicker anyway? Given Holden's history of overstating power figures, etc (recently it's been dodgy fuel efficiency claims), for once Ford has it right in sticking to their plan. Anyway, by all real reports (aside from the W427, which is line ball) the F6 pretty well has it all over the current HSV line-up. FPV/Ford know that no matter how quick or powerful they make their cars, HSV/Expensive Daewoo will always create a hero model with 'claimed' higher power outputs with the ever faithfull Wheels & Motor publishing super quick times for them. Then again, this is also part of the reason why Ford isn't doing too bad financially, and Expensive Daewoo is suffering due to their huge spends making their cost per unit way too high.

  18. I have a 20D, it too won't download onto a PC unless the driver has been installed. I got the Vista drivers from the Cannon website. The 300D is about the same vintage as the 20D, so I'd be surprised if the drivers weren't there.
  19. In it's present format, I couldn't agree more. But if they went back to a group C type formula (modified production cars, capped budgets), then they do have a chance of attracting more manufacturers. On the topic of Surfer's, sure the atmosphere at any V8 Supercar race is great, but that doesn't escape the fact that the sport has limited life, and limited appeal compared to the glory days of mixed manufacturers, capacities and configurations, etc. The Surfer's track would have to be the worst used in the year, with next to no overtaking opportunities, hence the carnage.
  20. About time too. Now you guys just need to kick the dealers and customer service in the arse.
  21. From all reports, the FG has a better ride and handling than VE, so the overhang would not be an issue for 99% of buyers. Sure improvements can be made to the FG, but that's what new models are for. Ford's biggest woes at the moment are with their pathetic marketing and customer service. All that aside, and back on topic, are there going to be any revisions to the I6 next year when the new V8s come out? Things like direct injection, more power for XR6 and F6?
  22. So you're one of these people who don't really pay attention to the sport then. For one, you've got Toyota, BMW, Merc, Chrystler, Jag and anyone who produces a 4 door V8 as a potential participant. But as far as the rule changes go, you may need to check the sport's history to see how Expensive Daewoo have had the rules manipulated to suit them over the years. And not just in V8s, look at what they did to production car racing with their Monaros (which esentially killed the sport's popularity). BRING BACK GROUP C!
  23. I doubt very much they don't actually know about the common issues. I've had my car back to the local dealer twice for common issues since I've had it, one for the steering recall, and another for shuddering brakes. On both occations they said they'd never heard of it happening before, despite people on here mentioning going to the same dealer, and a friend going in before me with the same issues. I'm convinced their continual denials and aparent ignorance is a ploy to reduce warranty repairs. Given how Expensive Daewoo once admitted that less than 10% of cars with faults are actually returned for repair by owners, I'd say Ford has realised that if they tell a customer the noise, etc is normal, or that they couldn't find a fault, 9/10 people would accept it and just put up with it.
  24. It's rediculous. They restrict the amount of warranty work in the hopes of saving some money, but they don't calculate the wasted expense in having owners come back on multiple occations for the same unrectified issue. Or the cost of a lost customer for that matter. I have to admit, the whole auto industry in regards to customer service and after purchase care is pretty shabby, but it seems that in order to penny pinch, Ford has taken the worst examples from every competitor and adapted it as policy. How dare these imbiciles charge a premium for servicing, when they can rarely even diagnose the simplest of common issues?
  25. Yes we do. The more sucessful Ford is, the more they can continue producing cars like the Ts anf F6s. Don't kid yourself by thinking Holden's woes are due to their manufacturing size. Properly run companys should be able to adabt to market fluctuations, etc. It's Holden's overspending that hurts them the most. Holden's marked dominance has come at a cost for sure, but Ford has let it get too out of hand.
