This does seem like a regular thing with the ford clutch, you would think they would recognise this fault and either rectify it or be fair about it, does show that ford warranty is getting out of hand since the turbo arrived, it just give them an excuss to not fix your car, the less money they spend the better they THINK they are off until they have no customers

Hope you get it out of them :stirthepot:

I have a 3 month old XR6 turbo ute, 4,500kms and a blown up six speed manual gearbox!!!!

Ford Australia will not cover it under new car warranty as they believe the cause of the clutch decintigrating, which tore holes into my fire wall wasfrom "driver abuse".

I was highway driving at 80km in 4th gear when this happened, I have not thrashed the car, and their is no signs of tire wear, so where do Ford get off?

I am stuck with an approx 10k repair bill, and ford do not want to listen.

Any thoughts on how to handle this.

Thanks.

It will not cost anything like that to fix, email me some digital photos to [email protected] and give me a look at the damage. I will sort it out for you at a reasonable cost, and I know this is cold comfort but I am sending some reports through to a Driveline Engineer at Ford and I am trying to get them to do something. Believe me this is quite common, Mal Wood

so mal do you not think this is a warrantable issue, or is it just impossible to tell?

can you tell us what you found (if anything) from the last one that did this?
