Gearbox Failure

I have a 3 month old XR6 turbo ute, 4,500kms and a blown up six speed manual gearbox!!!!

Ford Australia will not cover it under new car warranty as they believe the cause of the clutch decintigrating, which tore holes into my fire wall wasfrom "driver abuse".

I was highway driving at 80km in 4th gear when this happened, I have not thrashed the car, and their is no signs of tire wear, so where do Ford get off?

I am stuck with an approx 10k repair bill, and ford do not want to listen.

Any thoughts on how to handle this.

Thanks.

ring dept of fair trading or get a good solicitor or maybe take it to an engineer for an independant report on what may have caused the failure
