Help Oil Pressure Light

Ok pretty much the oil pressure light is going on and off alot some times staying on for a few minutes but mostly flashing on and off, When I check the dipstick it shows it at a good level no noticble oil leaks.

It started going this early this morning as I was on my way to work, I was thinking it may have been to do with how cold it was over night put some oil in this morning just to be on the safe side, drove the rest of the way to work with out any problems leaving work tonight its doing the same thing light going on and off and now it seems to be staying on for longer checked the oil again it still at the same level.

You can also feel the car stutter a little bit under acceleration

Any idea what may be causing or anything I should check or should I jsut take the car to ford or call the ravc if there is risk of something being damaged driving it.

I just had the valve springs replaces would this have any affect on any of the above.

wouldnt think valve springts have anything to do with it.. Oil presure light is a indication of oilpressure loss... turbo oil screen could be clogged up, as the presure switch is mounted on the same fitting... oil pump could be failing ?? a number of things..

take it to ford is your best bet. and get them to check the turbo oil filter just near the oil filter where the presure sensor is..

What your describing sounds electrical. If it faults intermittently and flicker i doubt it would be the oil pump or a blocked oil passage as mechanic faults like a failed oil pump dot come and go they tend to stay once they happen....

Could be a simple as your oil pressure sensor being faulty

Part2 of this story.

Start the car up to go to work this morning check it out make sure no oil on the ground or anything oil light is not on and dipstick shows it as full.

I let it warm up for a few mins the set off to work I drive maybe 1km up the road the oil light comes back on within 1000 meters the car stops dead with the battery light on. I call the racv ( it seems I have ford roadside assist that I did not know about untill I got to ford this morning) I tell him whats been happing he hooks a booster battery up gets me to start it.

We hear some of noise coming from the engine he tells me to stop and says it could be a broken oil pump or a few other things engine is could be starting to seize up. Its been towed to ford and I will know sometime today or monday whats wrong with it

its still in waranty so hope it will get sorted

If its oil pump drive, they will change the engine... bye bye nizpro valve springs...

your not helping I will see what happens I guess worst comes to worst I will just have to get it done again :censored: :censored: thank god its tax time soon

EDIT: maybe I will get the engine from the bf if they do that then I get better valve springs anyway :D

I can say 99% chance u get the ba motor.. They are cructial to not mixing part numbers between different series.. Unless the replacement part number for both engines are the same part number... which wheni checked was not the case..

Keep in mind jimbobs car was completely stock minus the valve springs ..
