Hi Guys,

In the best tradition of VIC cruises when it threatens to rain / is raining (storms forecast in the afternoon) and you are wondering if the cruise is going to happen, I thought I'd post up to say the cruise is ON :tease:

He's the official weather forecast for today:

Western District Forecast

Issued at 0540 on Sunday the 18th of February 2007

Warnings:

Fire Weather Warning: Fire danger will be very high to extreme today.

CFA has declared a day of Total Fire Ban for the North Western, South Western,

North Eastern and Central Total Fire Ban district for Sunday 18th February 2007.

Weather Pattern:

A high pressure system over the Tasman Sea will continue to move slowly

eastwards. A cold front to the west will reach western Victoria later today

before weakening over southern Victoria on Monday. A high pressure system will

develop over the Bight early Monday. This high will move to just west of

Tasmania on Tuesday and Wednesday, while a low pressure trough moves slowly over

central Victoria on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Forecast:

Colac

Sunday

Fine during the morning and early afternoon. Northerly wind strengthening ahead

of a cooler, gusty southwesterly in the afternoon. A few showers and a possible

thunderstorm to follow.  Max 35

Precis:  Change developing.

See you on the cruise :idunno:

Thanks for organising the cruise Gary!

All the slow bumper to bumper highway driving was a bitch to much for me.

Once we hit the twisties I had to jump ahead - My girlfriend wasnt comfortable sitting behind the lead car as we dont really know how most of you guys drive.

We went all the way to Apollo and got ourselves an icecream. We saw you guys drive through about 30 mins after we arrived.. (We were waiting at Georges)

But alas you guys must have kept going (pretty hard to find a spot to park in Apollo Bay).. It was all good though as we headed off to Lorne and back through to Melbourne down the rest of the GoR.

I took a couple of pics - will post em tomorrow.

Thanks anyhow for organising the day.

Cheers,

Bain
