In any case the whole sport has gone stale. I say bring back the other makes of cars and classes and make it interesting again. A bombed XR6T screaming down Conrod Straight...............if only Avesco was listening to the fans instead of the money weilding sponsors who are only there because of us anyway.

Wjat were series production rules again?

Off the show room mechanically. Free Tyres (road legal?). Free (Hardie) Brake Pads. Basic Roll Hoops but no cage and the classes were based solely on price? :spoton:

In all forms of motorsport, tied points will result in a count back.  In a count back, the win is awarded to the one who finished the highest in the last race or round.  In this case it would be Lownds.

That's incorrect.

The driver with the most race wins throughout the season would win the championship.

Well we're both right.

I used to be the pointscorer for our dirt bike club and we used the highest place getter in the previous race rule.

Looking up the V8 supercar rules, rule 14.4.2.4 States that for a tied round, the win is awarded to the highest place getter in the last race of that round. Rule 14.4.2.5 States that in a tie for the series, the counback goes on the amount of wins, then 2nds, etc.

However, in the case of Philip Island, if the offocials did the right thing and excluded Rick Kelly from the last race, then Lownds would have finished higher on points as his finish would have counted and *beep* would have had a 0.
