Problems With Bf F6

Hi guys just got a new F6 AUTO,its dead stock other than a new air filter.Last night took her for a drive,.about an hour into the drive,I went over a speed hump & the next thing all the warning light came on,even the d for drive in the dash cluster was flashing & the car had no power ii was like I had the hand brake on.Pulled over & restarted the car again same thing again all lights flashing & no power.So the next thing I did is pull over 2 get sum food 1 hour later I drove off & it was OK no probs at all. Another thing my brakes are all ready squeeeeling as well.CHEERS BB

The brake squealing is a 'feature'. It comes on all FPV products and is usually experienced under light braking.

My Brembo's have started squeeling under light braking as well.

As for the issue you described, it sounds like your car went into Limp mode. Normally, if you shut the car off for a min or so and restart it.

It could be a early warning sign, a problem that was caused by the speed hump or the car just threw a hissy fit. I would get Ford to get the error codes as it is not normal.

When my T used to go into limp mode , all dash lights operated as normal

Here is something I wrote back in 2004 - could your problem be the same??

"Picked up my Lightening Strike F6 on Dec 3rd 2004.

Build No. 52, first one delivered into Tassie. Brembo's optioned + leather etc.

84 km's on the clock at delivery (apparently had 72 km's on the clock when it arrived to dealer.... 12 km's 'extra' for window tint etc.)

...Drove 35 km's and the dash started playing up. Both the speedo and tacho dropping to zero, despite travelling in fourth gear at around 100 km/hr. Also a 'lot' of lights flashing (check engine, traction control, oil pressure, fuel, temperature, seatbelts etc, etc) Took it back to the dealer, where it spent the weekend before getting fixed on Monday the 6th. They found a loose plug connector on the 'ICC'?? (computer on the inside firewall behind the console)

...Not a great way to start!!!"

Hi mate sounds like the same problem,but did u lose power as well I mean I lost all power,its a 6 speed auto.sorry for the late reply. CHEERS BB MERRY CHRISTMAS

Mate check the earth connectors just next to or under the battery. They can cause all soughts of gremlins like that.

yep its one of main loom plugs happens alot and brembos arnt made for lite bracking expect them to squeel :holiday:
