28/10/06 02:23 AM28/10/06 02:23 AM #6 It sounds like the car is riding on the parking pawl inside the transmission. When you stop your vehicle to park it you should ensure the park brake is fully engaged, then release your brake pedal BEFORE selecting the P position of your auto selector.PS I drive a manual and EVEN I know that is what you're supposed to do!! Will be hard to get out of P on hills.Get your handbrake adjusted by someone who knows what they're doing (hopefully your Ford dealer?) BA handbrakes are crap, I don't use mine unless I park on a hill.
