Ford Stupidity

When will the marketing guys at Ford get their act together. They will never beat Expensive Daewoo if they don't do something.

There was not one single Ford advert during the Bathurst coverage. The BFII is the best kept secret in automotive history. Also, the have now won Sandown and Bathurst, yet nothing on TV or radio to promote this. Expensive Daewoo is already twisting the Bathurst loss into the fact the Kelly's 2nd place puts him in a good position to win the championship. Last year Expensive Daewoo had ads about winning Bathurst on the TV that night!!

Comon Ford, pick up your game.

Their problem is that they are seperating the performance market from the mainstream. Expensive Daewoo sells their mainstream cars because they have a strong performance base. Average Joe sales rep can pretend he's Mark Skafe in his poverty pack. Notice how Expensive Daewoo always shows the top of the line in their adverts (SS for mainstream Dunnydore ads).

Yes, a bit odd for there to be no ads. The only thing I can think of is that BFII is hardly an upgrade at all so in the product life cycle sense its not worth advertising perhaps.

Cant believe we have to wait for 2008 for the new Falcon!

Unless you are an enthusiest, the mystery means nothing. Their bulk sales come from everyday drivers who need to see the product promoted to know it exists. My business relies on marketing and I know from experience that for ytears now, Ford's efforts in marketing have been dismal.

Why did Ford need to spend money on advertising during the race? There were about 15 Fords racing on the track giving full time coverage of the product - and to cap it off ONE OF THEM WON. Seems smart to me not to advertise during the telecast.

However in general terms YES I agree that Ford marketing is not up to scratch.
