Hello all

Just after a few peoples opinon on a few things.

I had my car in today for warranty work and requested they check the tail shaft for a vibration and a diff whine as well as brake shudder (3rd time in for brakes).

Reading about stories from member saying that ford thrash cars I decided to reset my trip meter, average litres per 100 and timed driving time.

Trip meter came back with around 30ks they had driven the car for an HOUR!!!

and my litres per 100 had gone up by a fair bit. Do you guys think this is reasonable

thanks

well - if they only travelled 30kms in an hour - I wouldnt be too worried. Probably was idling a lot while they fiddled about.

The problems you listed are things that would require a decent test to evaluate.

I wouldn't worry.

I have had the same thing happen mate

I think its acceptable for them to drive it, to check if the car is driving properly etc. But its not acceptable when the car comes back with excessive fuel consumption ie. the flogged it!

Cheers

Have you considered 'illegal use of conveyance'. Sounds like they went and picked the boss up and got lunches as well all in your ride and joy. Ask the question and although you will get some BS answer ask it for your own piece of mind.

Remember our work cars go into Ford as well. You know the ones I mean and I recall a few years back one going through the airport tunnel at about 140KPH with some first year apprentice driving it.

Sound's a little high, but by the time they take it out and diagnose it drive back, fix the problem and test drive it again to see if they have fixed it. This may happen a couple of times if they did not get it right so all in all probably ok :spoton:

Thirty K's is nuthin to diagnose a driveline fault. We're a fickle bunch. we critisise ford when theydont fix things and then when they take the time and effort to fix it we complain... :idhitit:

"illegal use of conveyance"..im pretty sure that if you leave a car with a dealer for a fault that would require them to drive the car to diagnose you wouldnt get far with that course of action.

they fixed the car. nuthin is damage...just be happy.... :spoton:
